Let's say, for argument's sake, that if he goes to the Knicks, his chances of winning a title are 30% in the next 7 years. On the Nets, with that roster, his odds would never be better than something like 5% or worse. Many times more likely, no matter how you cut it, that he can win with Amar'e and our other pieces, than on the Nets.
So make no mistake, this is a straight swap of cash in exchange for any realistic chance at a title. And that's even if they get Paul.
Yeah clearly this whole thing isn't about finding a team to win a championship with. . I mean, Denver as is would be better equipped to do that than the nets - and the Knicks more than either.. it's about 'change' as he said in the beginning, he's ready to move out of Denver. . Now one would think if he cared even a little bit about winning he'd force his way to the Knicks, as he must know the Nuggets aren't going to let him walk as FA. . they'll play chicken but they can't afford to make him lose money over getting assets from the Knicks back. . I suppose 'looking out for his family' does factor in, but lets be honest, he has more than enough money, the CBA probably won't hit him that hard, and he'd be able to make up that amount outside salary in NY. . but that is moot, because I think he'd be able to force his way here with a trade if he holds strong.
