That doesn't make sense. Should keep Lin as an asset, if you want to make a run at Chris Paul.

Maybe they're hoping STAT will retire and just die or something.

Does anything make sense with Dolan?

He doesn't know how to keep assets, unless they're over the age of 35 and/or overpaid

My favorite color is purple, it represents royalty.

The artist could have taken Melo's face off it of it, and it would still be beautiful.

I can't ever tell anyone they are wrong about what appeals to them as it is in the end totally subjective, but I grew up around modern artists and my father was one of the great painters of the 20th century and I'm probably going to be completely unforgiving in my opinion when I see what I consider to be a bad painting and that to me is terrible work.

As long as it is featured in purple, the checkbook is ready.

Yes, it was shot using a purple lens filter. It was taken after Prince's dietary experiment of subsisting on only wheat thins and earl grey tea resulted in an impacted colon and constipation. The title of the photo is Purple Pain.

Funny thing is the leader of the pack shouting me down about how great an owner Dolan is and how there's no such thing as "team culture' was none other than our very own KnicksGod.

KG, after this past week can I get a mea culpa?

I never said Dolan was a great owner but I did say he'll always pay for the better talent -- and that has obviously changed. So now we're just left with the Dolan who values personal relationships too heavily.

I don't know if a mea culpa is required but I am clearly shocked that this is the direction we've taken. To me, talent and the right approach overcome "culture" so had we kept Lin and given him the ability to control the offense, we'd be in good shape. I guess your point is that bad culture makes it impossible for these good things to ever come to fruition and you appear to be right about that.

That's a long way of saying -- I can't believe we did what we did and I have lost all faith in the organization.

Some more salt on the wound by Bill Simmons here:

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/818 ... nes-part-i

An interesting theory in one of the footnotes:

Despite what Lin said publicly, I think he wanted to go to the Rockets — which is why his agent structured the offer sheet that way. Put it this way: If you're Lin, and you're a relatively private guy who just wants to get paid to play basketball without being thrust in the middle of some ego-ridden soap opera, would you rather lead a team like the Rockets — where they'd build their entire offense around you and let you do your thing — or would you rather play on the Knicks with two other point guards and two me-first scorers who can't succeed unless the offense is running through them at all times? And by the way — the biggest loser here was Tyson Chandler, who loved playing with Lin and actually touched the ball once in a while with him. He'll never see it again. Good luck setting those screens for the next three years, Tyson.

I know many of you are pissed because we let Lin go but I think we still have a very good team that is ready for a deep postseason run.
I want us to play like we used to in the 90's. We are surely a lot tougher than we were 2 seasons ago. We have Tyson and Camby at C position, two tough guys. Felton and Kidd aren't soft either. J.R.Smith and Melo are mostly viewed as thugs. Shump will also be back. Most of our roster is filled with tough guys and I love it. Add a defensive minded coach (Woody) and I hope we can enjoy in some tough, defensive minded basketball, not that "120-123 score at the end of games" that we had with D'Antoni.

Who cares?

Seriously, isn't every NBA team's one and only goal to win a title? If anyone think's we get past the Heat, they're wrong. It'll take a freak injury to one of their big three for that to happen. Our only chance was the "X" factor in Lin, and that's gone. No, I'm not saying Lin would've beat the Heat, but he was an X factor, Felton isn't. Kidd will be torched by any quick point guard, he hasn't been above average defensively in a few years now. It's a question mark if Shumpert returns at 100%[I think so, but still]
Camby I like, but we have such a slow and immobile front court. Only Melo and Chandler are quick in any way. Kurt Thomas isn't going to see any meaningful minutes in a Heat series. I think the ECF is our ceiling this year barring some injury to Wade/Bosh/LeBron.

JR Smith is a thug, but the problem is that's all he brings besides the hope that his talent might actually translate into production some day. I have an agenda against JR Smith, I admit that. He's the only Knicks player I don't like right now. Sure, every 15 games when he get's streaky he can score from anywhere past the half court line, and yeah he tries on defense, and he does flashy dunks. That's about it, AI/Stephen Jackson/Metta are known as thugs too, but they're all viewed highly in NBA circles[AI's heart and will, S-Jax being the ultimate teammate, Metta being one of the greatest man to man defenders ever at one point], JR Smith is viewed as a thug, and a person who acts like an idiot on and off the court and is a creep on twitter.

Yeah, JR Smith came back to the Knicks for less money. Why?No one else wanted him, and I have to give it to him. He's being smart by sucking up to Dolan, I won't be shocked in two years when JR get's a 4 year deal near the max.

Does that point even matter? Knicks still coulda shoulda matched.

But this quote sums up Dolan perfectly. He is def like King Geoffrey
"We've had vicious kings and we've had idiot kings, but I don't know if we've ever been cursed with a vicious idiot for a king."

I could see this. Houston is such a good fit for him. Yao Ming/China connections, MDA-like offense, young guys to develop with... even his religion would probably be more welcome in Texas.

I think Novak is the biggest loser, not Tyson.

Return to New York Knicks
