They literally won 49 games this past season when he played 70 games. His role has been reduced compared and it got them to the playoffs.
Choosing Ingram over Zion isn't even close to choosing Ellis over Curry.. what you talking about?
We just saw last night that the Pelicans still trust Ingram over Zion when it comes to taking the game winning shot. That pretty much is self explanatory.
Zion is twice the player Ingram is.
Ingram's a ball stopper who scores on middling efficiency and who struggles to fit into any collective system.
He may have better shot creation skills in crunch time but Zion's a far superior player.
The Pelicans had a more successful season than the two previous seasons in large part because Zion played 70 games vs 29 and 0 the two years prior.
Ingram raises their talent level but I don't think he has any significant impact on winning for them.

Zion was the leading scorer, despite having the ball less than Ingram, hence why they want the ball in Murray and Zion's hands with two 3 & D guys flanking them. The two guys who are replacing Ingram both had better net ratings than him last year.

Curry is a generational player. Zion ain't that. So that comparison is like comparing apples to oranges. Zion is a worse Randle.

I'm not riding for Ingram and actually not much of a fan of his. Was just saying it was better to go all in on him than Mikal if we want to be up there with Boston. Clearly, we're way behind from Boston with the moves we made.
I've expressed skepticism and shared my concerns about the Mikal trade, but I think he's a better team player than Ingram. Between the two, I'm taking Mikal without much hesitation. Ingram's a solo act and not a great one at that - Mikal has at least proven his ability to contribute to a team with legitimate championship aspirations.
