Guarantee you would be supporting Monty Williams on the Pistons if you could go back in time to last season, with full knowledge of what happened this season

Atkinson utilizes his bench and keeps his players as healthy/fresh/prepared as possible. It's not about losing 4 in a row. It's about the dumb things that Thibs does that people can't stand. The straw man defense system doesn't work.

We don't have the bench. If Atkinson was here he'd also play maybe 9 players depending on match up's. No coach trying to win with this roster is going 10 or 11 deep.

Wrong. You can tell all the stories you want but, we have a bench. Thibs just doesn't know how to use one. He's a moron. He puts all of his non scoring players on the floor together. Who does that? He doesn't know how to stagger. He has no concept about players getting hurt or just being tired because he keeps them out there too long. He has no clue when to leave a player in because he's hot or take him out because he's hurting the team. He has never used his bench properly and he never will. Every measurable stat supports this and the last 5 years watching has verified it.

If you think we have the bench to go 10-11 deep, you're clearly trolling and I'm done with this conversation.

Where did I say that? THIS is EXACTLY the straw man BS deflection every Thibs defender resorts to. You were done before you started bro. Keep it that way and scroll on by then.

Can you imagine him and Brunson in the playoffs for us? Would be the top duo in the league. Hopefully KAT likes Phoenix.

Listen, I will trade KAT for KD if we get assets back. Need at least 1 unprotected pick back.

honestly though, KD is an immensely talented player, but he is looking old. If he wants to stick around like Vince Carter, he probably can, but you can see he is starting to look like Nets KG more than Nets KD

KD still averaging 27 PPG on insane efficiency. Nets kg wasn’t even close to that level lol

The calls for a new coach aren't new or confined to the current struggles.

Spoiler:
Some of the common complaints we've seen in various threads over the years of Thibs' tenure.

*Knicks at the bottom of the league in assists
*Bottom in pace
*Bottom in giving up wide open 3's
*Rigid/Unwilling to try new things
*Playing injured players
*Overplaying starters
*Punting drafts/picks
*Prioritizing over the hill scrub vets over developing youth
*Trading away youth for nothing
*Playing favorites/doghouse
*Consistently gets out-coached
*Slow to make obvious adjustments
*Robotic sub patterns
*Bizarre/ineffective lineups
*Lack of feel for the flow of the game
*Waiting too long to call timeouts
*Poor out of bounds plays
*Misusing personnel
*No offensive system/creativity
*Not pulling starters in blowouts
I'm sure there's a lot more.

Over the years, Thibs has been able to get the guys, especially vets, to play hard, play with pride, and win reg season games; He's a checkers champion.

But when it comes to having a dynamic approach to coaching, which climaxes in the playoffs, Thibs falls short. He can't play chess.

Thibs is a solid coach who can lay a foundation. But if you ask him to build an architectural structure on top of that foundation, he can't do it. The coach after him will be that guy.

Context matters though.

Kenny has coached the Cavs to multiple double digit win streaks and has multiple quality wins against contenders this season.

Now compare that to Tom, who has coached the Knicks to multiple blowouts against contenders and nail biters against lottery teams.

Also, we got blown out by the Cavs by nearly 40 points last month. It's not the same...

KD's game is aging well. I'd trade Mikal for him, but not KAT. KAT/Brunson/KD/OG would be really tough to stop.

I'd trade Karl for Giannis though.

Nah. If you can trade KAT for KD you take that and run. I rather have one of the best scorers of all time instead of the worst defensive big in the league. Easily a no brainer. KAT isn’t a winner.

Rather trade KAT for KD and get picks/assets back. We would have to part with OG and Bridges and then we would have no wing defenders again.

The simplest solution is you get a new coach, who would play KAT at the PF spot. The fixation on the 5 out offense is what got the knicks messed up right now.

I thought it was criminal that Thibs didn't try to develop cohesion with the bench like he did with the starters earlier in the season. No one can tell me Hart would have less of an impact as the 6th man than he is as someone often times playing out of position.

Yeah let’s trade our best player for 36-year-old Durant

he’s displaying insane efficiency, and it really translates to wi………

If the Knicks are struggling, haters are going to bash them and whine and complain. If - for a couple of years now - Giannis can’t win with Lillard and Durant can’t win with Booker and Beal, and their superstar-studded teams are barely mediocre, the same haters know just what to do… trade our guys for them!

If the grass always looks greener on the other side, something is wrong with you. This year’s Cleveland team is no more talented than our roster. They looked outmatched and mediocre last season. It should be common sense that you don’t just make big trades or sign a franchise player and then win a championship seven months later. Literally, not a single team has done that in 40 years (Kawhi‘s Raptors are the single exception and they wouldn’t have beaten a healthy Warriors team). Yet this board is somehow the place where 40+ years of basketball history can go unnoticed.

This is a talented, well-balanced roster, but I see posters crashing out left and right on this board on a daily. Towns had 31, Bridges 27, 4-8 from three , OG 23 points, but of course, today is no exception. Cry me a river…
