SelbyCobra wrote:PTFO had been the best sports podcast for quite a while now. Even the random musings episodes are quality. He used legitimate, elite investigative journalism skills, but applies it to everything from fantasy football amongst death row inmates, famous sports cards that have never been pulled (the missing Jordan), soccer players who have been disappeared by the US government, and the latest bombshell being the exposure of collision between NFLPA leadership and the NFL owners that has currently got the entire union outraged and on fire.

I posted it when it was released a few months ago, but it's also the same podcast that somehow dug up the Knicks embarrassing LeBron recruitment video.

Pablo and his team do some damn good journalism. This was the level of investigations we used to see from ESPN before they decided to start manufacturing their own headlines.

I was stunned how thorough these guys are. If Adam Silver has seen this video he should be very concerned.

I just watched this.

This is very disturbing. There wasn't much conjecture presented here, just fact finding.

I dunno. I'm starting to think that organized crime has already sunk their teeth in the NBA and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

It also sucks because now it's public knowledge that at least 3 members of the fanbase are actively involved in this. Not because these guys are Knicks fans but because I don't know who these guys know on the team. It looks like 3 NBA players have gotten caught up. That might be a generous number

Cant watch this right now but will fire it up when I have the time. Pablo is a talented journalist and this topic interest me a lot.

Corruption and tainting the sport was inevitable with mixing gambling and human nature. It won't stop but I would be stoked if they nuked it. They'll try to continue to punish the players with no accountability on their own part. Adam Silver and those that orchestrated this mess are the real criminals here. But the players that fell for it are going to be villianized.

What im trying to say is death to the bourgeoisie!

I agree with you 100%.

This is Adam Silver's mess. He saw dollar signs instead of ensuring that the integrity of the sport remains intact.

I think Porter, Rozier (who per Pablo had NOT been cleared of any wrong doing) and Beasley are morons. Beasley is a bad person in general but Silver rushed the league into this without considering the consequences. This falls at his feet. These dumbasses got caught up.

Also, the fact that players receive death threats from degenerate gamblers isn't lost on me either.

Once you get into bed with gambling organizations, you start sliding down a slippery slope.

See I have a hard time calling these players morons... im soft. Yeah, Beasley is a bad person cause of the other sht he has done. But damn, greed can corrupt a man. And I just feel that Silver, the person with power and the responsibility of protecting the game, allowing this pairing is the main culprit. He sacrificed these players and a lot of fans for money. Terrible person.

To your other point, I cant stand seeing odds all the time or reading/hearing about fans bets. And how shtty the are to players over losing money. Grimy as hell.

I know I sounds like a puritan wanting to keep the game pure, but damn gambling is nasty. It ruins peoples lives.

I didnt catch the donte slur...

The connection is the guys associated with the gambling ring were sitting courtside during the donte shot against the 6ers in the playoffs
