I think we are almost there with the deal. We may have to give up Felton it seems. But if we are not taking any long term contract and get to keep Gallo, we can have a deal.

Here is my offer:
Felton, Chandler, Curry, Turiaf (mysterious additional starter. he did start you know.), 2014 pick.

for

Melo, Billups, Williams.

With Denver making this offer they are saying they want talent, So Donnie's gonna have to pony up but I don't see Donnie going all in after the T-mac deal. Idk if this gets done gonna be real interesting.

Edit: The one good thing about this is Donnie finally recieved his offer, now he can counter.

yeah he has a team option for 11/12. they asked for 2 of 3 and a felton billups swap, im glad they turned it down, but its a fairly reasonably starting point i think. i think that shows something will def get done, cause its not an insulting offer imo. id prefer to keep billups and felton out, or not give up a 3rd starter. imo they cant have both felton and a 3rdd starter. i have a feeling the concession is going to randolph instead of the 3rd starter.

Melo staying in Denver would be fitting conclusion to this season-long circus but has become increasingly plausible for couple key reasons

Rising belief around NBA that some sort of franchise tag on way, along w/Melo's open lust for extension by June 30, changing tune out there

DEN will keep talking trades until buzzer sounds Feb. 24 but case for keeping Melo (compared to settling for so-so trade) gaining credence

1.) There will not be a franchise tag in basketball
2.) Even if there was, Melo would not be subject to it, since he can opt out. They can't tag what isn't under contract.
