The thing is...only the Knicks would give up legit first rounders for a player like Melo at this point in his career.
And Prokhorov, if he had any to give
Vivek too, but I don't think Melo will agree to it.
Then again, maybe Cousins gives him a call.

its a tough decision to make. we're going to have to lose virtually every game to get a top 3 pick. that's not happening with melo.
What better way to tank than a Melo-less Knicks team with DRose dominating every possession.
{{insert antonio banderas ooooooohh at the laptop gif}}
The odds are still there to get a top 3 pick with one of the 7 worst records, and you're not close to a lock even with one of the 3 worst records.

I don't think he'll accept being sat though. He's going to get moved by next week at this point

Maybe Cavs part with Love if you give them Lee and Kyle. I'd go far to get the Brooklyn pick.

Brooklyn and Lakers are locks for a top 3 worst record, but who is the 3rd with them? Can easily be Knicks without Melo

I wanted to believe again when Phil was hired, so I got on board just based on his past-success. Going into the Okafor/KP draft, I wanted KP because I thought Okafar was a no-D scrub, so KP coming to us only got me further hyped. Was totally on board for KP's rookie year and accepted the growing pains, but then I had to instantly jump back off the ship when Phil signed Noah to that ridiculous contract. Literally at that fkn moment, I knew that the Knicks would be stuck as a .500 team for 2-3 more years at best. Couldn't even believe that chit contract when I read it. Had to jump off on principle.
Fast forward to now, and it's obvious that this team is trash. WELL DUH! Da fook. So now Phil wants Melo gone huh? Now bro?! Whatever dude. It's true that Melo's play has dropped this year, but it's been dropping every year for like the past 3 years, so what, I'm just supposed to think trading Melo is THE GREAT STEP to getting some new version of the Knicks?
What, I'm just supposed to forget that Phil thought DRose + Clee + 16 mil Noah was supposed to make this chit a superteam? fk dis. I ain't stupid, I ain't forgettin none of that, and I ain't forgetting that Phil has been trash.
There ain't gonna be some new version of the Knicks if Melo gets traded because trash moves like trading Chandler and signing Noah were Phil's moves--and guess what--Phil is still here.
So fk dat. And also, all of these passive aggressive leaks by Phil to the media have been childish as f. I've never even liked Melo that much, but he's getting trashed on his (potential) way out, just so Phil gets to hide some of his trash moves. And honestly if I had to bet, I still think the odds are in favor of Melo staying because he won't waive his NTC. More than anything though, the exit that I'm most looking forward to is Phil's. Melo can bounce and I won't love or hate him in retrospect. Phil though? Man, as a Knicks fan, I want that dude gone. Can we get a competently run organization for once in my life or what? fk dis team

What's the number with him off the floor? Also please post KP's numbers and DRose numbers.
I posted the number the other day.
The team gets outscored by more when he's on the floor than when he's off. I think the differential was like 2 points a game. The team scores more with him on the floor but they give up more points also.. per 100.
You remember the site? I'd like to post the updated numbers, no matter what they say.

Lakers only have one game on the Suns, Knicks are 5 out of 2nd worst
Honestly, if we get the second worst record, we're getting the #1 pick

We'd have to go like 5-30 over the rest of the season to get top 3, 10-25 should get top 5, but you never know. Its a close race, and Melo will give us that couple extra wins to push us back
Which actually helped us last draft, so you never know
it's weird, last draft i was hoping for a top 3 pick, this draft i want a top 2 pick and it's way more loaded.

I don't understand why everyone thinks its so easy to fall to the bottom? Your guys' reasoning is that EVERY team below us will have to win like 6 MORE games than the Knicks will throughout the rest of the season. I don't see it. You're setting yourselves up for disappointment.
IF we're super lucky and go on a terrible streak, I think we top out at 5th worst. Its just unrealistic. Those teams are at the bottom of the standings for a reason. They aren't very good.
