In a positive light, THJ grew a lot as a player last year. Still offensively minded, but we'd have him during prime of career.

Nice man. Go for it. Rutgers?

How? He f*cking played 17 minutes a game in the regular season! He actually had a worse year than the 2 years he played for us. Someone said he played 33mpg in the playoffs. That just makes me think of one name ... Jerome James.

He's not even anywhere close to what we need. We have Lee and Dotson looks like a legit steal. On top of that, Doncic and Porter Jr are both wings in next year's draft ... which we were SUPPOSED to be tanking for. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Yeah, was between NYU and Rutgers. Opted for less financial debt.

That's what is killing me as well bro. Doncic and Porter Jr. are wings. I loved that we had that slot available. Even worse, it lessens our chance at landing them in the draft.

POST ASB:

17.5 PPG / TS% of .593 / 3PT% of .373

If we can get those #'s extrapolated over the duration of the contract, it'll match the money he's given. He's also a perfect fit in Horny's system.

Nice. I got my bachelor's from RU in 08. I hope their Deans are much better there days. I went to speak to one in the Sports Management program when I was trying to decide my major, and after a 5 minute conversation, she told me that the major "wasn't for me". She could tell.

God, I was just getting excited about Porter too. Just yesterday I watched a documentary about him and I would catch myself being so happy during the day that we actually had a shot at him. Mainly, I was happy cause it seemed like we were going in the right direction for once in the last 20 years. And then this move does a complete 180 on all that sh*t. :(

I guess he's improved a bit since he left. Whatever. He now has a Noah deal. Smh.

Yeah I don't like that move. Don't like that the Knicks give those out so easily. The deal itself though I don't think is so bad

This is absolutely not the kind of move to make when you have no idea what the next president / GM will want.

Hayward already had displayed playmaking skills and had the size to clearly grow into a better role and was 23. THJR is clearly defensively limited, is not a playmaker, and may have the potential to be a solid shooter and is 25. Worlds of difference.

THJ excels in transition.

Horny loves transition offense.

He's gonna score a lot of points. He might average 20.

Hardaway Jr. doesn't really do anything well. 35% from three, can't rebound, can't pass the ball, can't defend

Man, if I see one more person try to justify this by comparing it to other contacts.

All that matters is THIS contract for THIS team in it's CURRENT state. And it absolutely sucks and wipes out any flexibility we could have had over the next few years.

There is a little difference though. Portland wanted to trade us a first round pick, if we decided to take on Crabbe's contract. I like Hardaway, but this is still overpaying. I would have rather used the cap space to accumulate more picks.

Hayward always played defense and knew how to position himself. Hardaway is a brainless chicken on defense.

Is he? How many games of his did you watch last season?

I'm not a fan of this move but I will hold out hope that THjr will be a late bloomer like his dad... that's one tremendous pedigree. A part of me believes that THjr will earn this contract, as outrageous as it looks right now.

There is a possibility Gaines advised on this...

4 years and a trade kicker is an exponentially worse contract than Redick's? Wtf comparisons are you guys even making?
