I think a team nobody expects is gonna come over the top for him like with PG and Kawhi, or Griffin

Like, I dunno, Phoenix maybe?

They arguably have the best group of assets and could think a Booker/AD pairing will win them games.

The team that resides in Brooklyn.

If we do end up keeping Barrett, then he will develop better playing next to KD and Kyrie tbh. These guys have won championships and know what it takes to win. Barrett would develop bad habits playing on a bad team. If anything, it would accelerate his development ala Tatum last year playing on a winning team.

But do they have the assets though?

They have the 17th pick, 27th pick, LeVert and Allen, then I guess they could s&t Russell and RHJ, but I don't think that package would have as much trade value as Mitch and the 3rd pick, let alone whatever else we'd offer
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

That AD news is great, if the list of teams keep shrinking then we give up less assets. By the time FA starts it will be like DSJ and a Mavs pick lol

It's a 3 player draft so I'm thankful we're in the top 3 for once instead of always being on the outside looking in.

Sheesh, this one he’s showing off his handle.

Anyone know how many times he went to the basket with the ball to the right side in that whole video clip? Pretty sure it was zero so that will be something NBA players and coaches will pick up on real quick so he definitely needs to put that at the top of his list of things he needs to work on if we draft him and keep him.

He used his right hand in driving, he went right, uses the right well in crossovers and even finished with his right hand multiple times in that video so the only thing that is zero here is your credibility. You lose, good day sir......

If we still want to rebuild/develop our young guys, we could still sign KD n Kemba (Kyrie not so much in that regard) to get them needed playoff experience and tutelage. I wouldn’t mind that either if we’re competitive and still get to watch the young guys grow. I doubt that happens tho, but..

Kemba/DSJr
Dotson/Trier
Barrett/Frank
Durant/Knox
Mitch/Vonleh or DJ

...would be kinda fun

I wish

And I s urethras hope beyond all other hopes that we can sign two studs prior to ad

However if we do ad and kd then we have enough cash for a couple moves

Perhaps we could get rozier or Danny green or something

Let's hope the Knicks presence in the AD sweepstakes is only to drive up the price that the Celtics pay for him so weaken the division rival. AD is an elite player but big men in the modern NBA don't lead teams to titles anymore.

I remember how so many fans rejected the idea of giving up Frye in a deal for Garnet .... is Mitch playing that same role now? Something to ponder...hmmmm. Although, I wouldn't want to give up the farm for a guy who won't resign.

This year's 3rd might be the best asset because it would be Zion's buddy the Pels could reunite him with. Maybe that would be worth more than multiples to them and let the Knicks keep more assets compared to the unknown of future Celtic assets.

Nope, if we wanted to do championship or bust then we go after AD and sign vets to min contracts. I was just sayin if they wanted to keep the young guys but still be competitive...like the Celtics.

I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss bigs

First of all Durant is a 7 footer

And AD is the new era big ideal. He’s effective to the 3, he’s great up tempo, he can score inside and he’s able to guard all positions

You don’t want to see him in Celtics green just like we don’t want to see kawhi stay in Toronto

However if phily maintains, celts get ad, Toronto keeps kawhi and we add kd then the Atlantic is the top division by far. For whatever it’s worth. Which isn’t much since we play each other so much

AD is the prototype for the modern big man. I don't know why you think he wouldn't be a major impact player.
