Frank for unprotected 1st round pick. Even Frankophiles wouldn't turn that down.

Looks like Mitch will be coming off the bench if Fiz sees Randle as a 5.

Hopefully Mitch doesn’t have that sophomore slump.

Maybe, which I think (starting) hardly matters to Mitch.
And Mitch is more than rangy enough defensively to guard fours.
The bigger issue to me is the spacing on offense.
I kinda get it tho.
I don't hate the idea of Randle here.
He's a conditioning guy and he's a model citizen.
I could see it.

Kyrie not making sense of course, literally a worse version of Boston.
Well at least the Nets don't have the caliber of talented young players for Kyrie to ostracize and whose development hell hinder. So it should work out better for him.

It reminds me of David Griffin on NBATV gushing over Ingram before he got the NOLA gig.
Randle will be a Knick if Fiz has any say so in the matter.

I like Julius Randle but not at 25 million per year.

I wanted Raps to win it all because of Raps fans.

Now I want Kawhi to sign with Knicks because of Raps fans.

I like to be entertained.

Not a fan of Randle at all. He holds the ball too long. Great stats though.

If RJ has a Donovan/Tatum type effect & Mitch makes strides by the time KD is back, I don’t see why that team can’t be taken seriously. Not to mention the bench depth of “should be” improving guys like Trier, Knox, DSJr & Dot. Who knows what Iggy brings and who knows who we draft next year in a loaded draft.

You mean in terms of Ws? I would consider hoarding assets, getting a top pick and letting the kids develop as improving the team.

Hoarding assets. It will be hard to preserve our cap space until 2021 without lose several assets. If we cap out this year or next year, we could use Birds Rights and First Round Exception to go over the Cap and keep almost everybody in the roster.

The new contracts of Trier, Dotson, Frank, Dennis, Ignas, Vonleh, 3 FRPs will eat pretty much our Cap Space in 2021. To stay 30%/35% under the cap we will be forced to get rid of some assets.

It is probable that eventually we give up the "wait for 2021 strategy" to keep more assets in the roster or trade for a star adding more salary and eating the reserved Cap Space.

Besides, it is not a comfortable situation to rely in Free Agents Star decisions year after year. We dont know for sure who will hit FA in 2021. Its smarter not let your player hit the FA, extending his contract sooner or trading him until mid season. Toronto, GSW, Philly, Charlote, Nets and Orlando took a chance this season. I dont know if teams will keep being so audacious next seasons.

We don’t know who we’re keeping.

Vonleh may not even be here next year.

We don’t know if Ignas will even last a year.

Trier and Dotson, yep you have to pay them 2020, but I don’t see how having them on a good deal is stopping you from using the remaining cap space to gain assets.

You don’t have to pay Frank DSJ till the summer of 2021. If you even pay them at all. DLo just had a meteoric rise and they sent him packing to sign a big fish. Why couldn’t we do the same thing if given the opportunity?

We def can do it. Will they? We’ll see.

Big fish or roll it over. Signing guys who aren’t worth it to big deals is how you get in trouble in this league. Paying to keep your kids is the only thing stopping this plan and in that case the kids panned out which is a good thing.
