The cases in NY are about 7x higher than any other states right now.

it makes sense because of the logistics of living/working in or near NYC.

I applaud though Governor Cuomo. All his decisions have been rock solid. He should run for president. The guy is a leader.

Makes a decision and in big bold letters "I am responsible". Cannot express enough how much my respect has grown for that guy.

Whatever happens in NYC i know he exhausted all avenues to save lives.

Peter Alexander gave the resident the biggest opportunity to act presidential without a teleprompter and he once again showed us who he really is.

We don't need a Republican or a Democratic president, we need a president. We need a leader and we are lacking in that department in trying times right now.

I stopped listening to this fool a while ago. About the virus, I get all my updates from President Gov. Cuomo, who's acting more like a president than the one in the White House.

On the other hand I was lucky I had a heads up this would happen and had a few weeks heads up to stock up. Be patient this is going to take a while.

I don't think anyone can look at what Cuomo is doing and not agree with my sentiment. Forget party lines. The guy has proven to be a leader in a crisis. Not only is he making tough decisions but he tries to calm people by tying back what we are going through to his personal experiences.

Can't say the same about Deblasio. The guy is a muppet. But alas. I am glad Cuomo is in charge here.

Whenever I hear him I know that whatever happens we are doing our best out there.

It is incredible how quickly this virus stopped the world in its tracks.

The silver lining in all this is that humanity will survive. Imagine if this virus had a higher death rate.

That is the stuff nightmares are made of.

It is amazing, but I don't find it surprising. We should thank Obama for having done such a good job building a coalition and sending the troops to Africa to suppress Ebola. They really did prevent an Ebola pandemic. I shudder to think of that let loose on the whole world.

We will get through this and the next administration will take the lessons learned and be prepared next time.

The Cuomo bloodline has that steady hand at the wheel demeanor. His father Mario was the same. Not sure why Cuomo didn't run, but maybe he feels content in his role as the Gov

Just watched the movie CONTAGION. This movie from 2011 portrays almost everything we're going through today in 2020 -- including some things we haven't gone through yet, like running out of food, home break-ins, military controlling the streets, fighting over who gets the vaccine first, etc. WOW! :o

A poem written by an Irish priest

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/ireland-priest-coronavirus-lockdown-poem_n_5e748a0cc5b6f5b7c541e875

Lockdown

Yes there is fear.
Yes there is isolation.
Yes there is panic buying.
Yes there is sickness.
Yes there is even death.
But,
They say that in Wuhan after so many years of noise
You can hear the birds again.
They say that after just a few weeks of quiet
The sky is no longer thick with fumes
But blue and grey and clear.
They say that in the streets of Assisi
People are singing to each other
across the empty squares,
keeping their windows open
so that those who are alone
may hear the sounds of family around them.
They say that a hotel in the West of Ireland
Is offering free meals and delivery to the housebound.
Today a young woman I know
is busy spreading fliers with her number
through the neighbourhood
So that the elders may have someone to call on.
Today Churches, Synagogues, Mosques and Temples
are preparing to welcome
and shelter the homeless, the sick, the weary
All over the world people are slowing down and reflecting
All over the world people are looking at their neighbours in a new way
All over the world people are waking up to a new reality
To how big we really are.
To how little control we really have.
To what really matters.
To Love.
So we pray and we remember that
Yes there is fear.
But there does not have to be hate.
Yes there is isolation.
But there does not have to be loneliness.
Yes there is panic buying.
But there does not have to be meanness.
Yes there is sickness.
But there does not have to be disease of the soul
Yes there is even death.
But there can always be a rebirth of love.
Wake to the choices you make as to how to live now.
Today, breathe.
Listen, behind the factory noises of your panic
The birds are singing again
The sky is clearing,
Spring is coming,
And we are always encompassed by Love.
Open the windows of your soul
And though you may not be able
to touch across the empty square,
Sing.
