That's probably too far. He has been bad, with some good games, for about a month. That's not exactly sky falling territory yet. But he really hurt us second half. If he was good, we are 50-50 to win the ol' ballgame.

the stats say the knicks have been better with him off the floor every year of his career

he's said publicly he wants to start one day. he doesn't consider himself a bench player.

But he has no say right? EDIT: I mean, no actual contractual way of stopping the Knicks from retaining him.

He doesn't but we'd be in the luxury if we resign him. And most importantly he's gonna want starters money while being a bench player. If they wanted to keep him they'd start him at least to see what he and Brunson look like together, he's going to be overpaid as a bench player, if he were a starter the money is fine.

You’re willing to roll the dice with Randle?

RJ’s problems are fixable!

Randle’s problems are bigger during the playoffs and on the defensive end.

He could help if he really moved his feet on defense but that takes effort from him.

Even had he gone to RFA his number would have been lower. Now it'll take a first or an asset to get off that giant turd contract. There may be a press conference desperate front office that would take him as a 'TOP 3' pick, like Detroit. But they ran that play with Bagley 3 and Wiseman.

Maybe the Bobcats, we trade RJ and a pick for Gordon Haywards expiring.

How you clearing salary for Brunson?

Easy, I'm not signing all those garbage ass roleplayers the year before a free agent I've wanted hits the market.

Sorry but Time Machines don’t exist. So seriously how are you doing it?

You would think Randle. So it's been RJ all this team. Time to break this lefty team up.

If time machines don't exist, why are you asking me about clearing room for Brunson when the question itself would require a time machine.

I don't even need a time machine, I hated every single one of those signings when they happened.

I would take OG for RJ in a split second. Get RJ out of here.

Thibs handling of Quickley is absolutely maddening. Quickley was our hottest player , he should have NEVER been subbed out for RJ. Game was over the moment Thibs made that absolutely braindead move.

Randle harder to stop, but a choker. It's possible, like all things, that both guys -- RJ and JR -- are not good lol. Add in IQ. He may not be good either. It's crazy to be crowning IQ after he has not had a single good playoff game in a win.

That's as shocking as RJ's misses. You all just don't want to admit it. But this is the NBA. IQ has shown some good stuff but it's best to be skeptical. He may just be okay.

I was just referring to IQ in shorthand. Listen, if IQ is better, I want to keep him. I'll admit that Rowan shows some stuff that you rarely see in the NBA as far as a broken jumper. It comes and goes. IQ has gotten that floater down, but I don't see great player. To be fair, Brunson doesn't jump out with his talent either.

god is on my case but he thinks Brunson sucks too, we all miss. Burks was horrible by the way.

The guy we can't do without is Randle and yet I think he's not someone who can get us there. He's missing too much stuff, but I realize all that size and ability to score inside, and sometimes outside, is enticing.

It's possible that nobody on the Knicks is that good. You guys are wrong about Mitch too. He's not a starter on a great team.

So, let's just wait and see. I hope to be wrong about ANY Knick I say I don't think is all that good.

And don't fall in love with advanced stats. They don't tell you if Mitch is good when it counts most, against teams that he doesn't match up against. Had he not played in the Heat series like at all, I honestly think that series is closer.

Mitch is a clear 1-way player and that 1 way is not universal enough. He might have helped some tonight, I think, but there are teams where Mitch is only a detriment. You'd have to dig deeper into advanced stats -- as my own kind of 'Harden case study' -- to really understand if he's effective. I kind of think Mitch is a bum and you guys are fooling yourselve about him as much as me about RJ, for instance.

The only guy I'd be truly worried about losing is Brunson.
