Somethings about to go down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He’s usually never Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things that could fall into the Shocked category:

1) KAT contract extension
2) OG asks for a trade
3) Leon resigns
4) Dolan sells

I wouldn’t consider Thibs getting fired a shocker.

Assuming we are keeping Huk (TO 2M) and PJ (TO 3,5M), our payroll hits 199,8M (11 players) according to Sportrac. It would give us only 8M to complete the roster without hitting the second apron.

Assuming we are keeping Delon and Shamet on min deals (2,3M each), we would only have 3,4 M left on apron space to get 1 or 2 players to complete the roster.

Knicks looked uneven all year, including the playoffs.

He better be thinking of moves, to possibly include a new coach.

F*ck standing pat.

We're going to bring back DDV

Its possible. I think the power play move is JJJ but I think its some combination of:

Most likely to leave (in order):

1. Thibs (and if he gets the blame I only think 1 of these following 2 players are traded with an outside chance for both.)

2. Bridges - openly complained about playing time and never seemed to fit in. Also doesn’t sound like he wants to extend and only has one year left before losing him for nothing.

3. KAT - has an extremely close relationship with management and if Thibs gets blame they may think a better coach with a better system and better substitution patterns and/or roster tweak will help mask his deficiencies.

Bridges as a centerpiece plus something else could net us JJJ. Bridges/KAT gets us JJJ/Bane.

Then the last move is McBride/Kolek/ Tucker (salary filler) + 2nd round pick for Divo. McBride has never shown the consistency of scoring that Divo showed in one year here in a Knick uniform and is Brunson's best friend.

JJJ is CAA too and could really keep an injury prone Mitch's minutes down as well as playing the 4 or 5 and masking KAT.

JJJ
KAT
OG
Divo
Brunson

Vs a team like Pacers you stagger Brunson and KAT as much as possible. And rather than play them 36 minutes plus each you play them around 32. Meaning they will be on floor together for 16 minutes total.

Brunson lineup....
JJJ/Mitch
OG
Hart/Shamet
Divo/Wright
Brunson

KAT lineup....
JJJ/Mitch
KAT
OG
Hart/Shamet
Divo/Wright

To the average fan it kinda is. A coach that got us to game 6 of ECF...it is kinda a shock from that respect

OG is a keeper. I also think we need to find ways to get him touches more consistently.

I don't think that tear he went on during the season was a fluke.

The OG ISO is good for a lot of "No, NO!, YES!!!!" moments.

Lol he is just kind of clunky. He is not super smooth or explosive. Still that defense is so elite and he scores well enough with that defense thrown in.

1.Memphis wants to blow it up. Bridges still has strong value and was misused here. KAT finished top 10 in mvp even with the warts and is not a great fit with Brunson(from a defensive standpoint)

JJJ/Bane & Clark (for salary matching) for KAT/Bridges

JJJ/Mitch
OG/JJJ
Hart/OG
Bane/McBride
Brunson/Wright

Thats a much better lineup to assemble around Brunson.

OR

2. Giannis and Kuzma for KAT and Bridges and 3 FRP swaps and Wash 1st.

3.Bill Simmons suggested a 3 way deal with KAT and Spur picks going to Milwaukee, Giannis to NY and Bridges to Spurs

4. Would Phx be willing to move Dev Booker for KAT? Both have the EXACT same salary both in annual salary as well as total contract amount.

5. If Minny wants to resign Randle.....Mikal Bridges (24.9) and Kolek (2.1) for DDV (11.99) and Naz Reid (15M opted in player option)

Brunson is terrible and you’re still talking about building around him? Jaren Jackson is another soft big man who jacks up threes.

It’s Giannis or bust.

Brunson is terrible? Hand in your Knick fan card.

Giannis? Yes, let's get all his declining years.

I’ll take 5 years of prime Giannis over a 5’11” shoot first “point guard”. Brunson Ball is losing basketball.

Alec Burks - Thibs loves this man
Bojan Bogdanovic - out for the year; Thibs would play him
Brook Lopez - could be a good backup center
Al Horford - possibly? Boston might not be able to sign him.
Tyus Jones - a player that takes care of the ball, steady ball handler

# 4 would be really interesting. Steve Cohen can buy the Knicks and Rangers, doesn't need to buy SNY (owns by the Wilpon until 2030), will have a brand name in MSG which is more valuable. He will be able to move the Mets to MSG.

Shams report gives me hope. Sounds like wholesale changes are being considered. Breakup the nova Knicks. Hart, mikal, and of course KAT can go

He signed with the Suns for vet min. Although still a decent player, he didn't help the team as much as many people thought. So maybe he is a nice backup that can definitely play spot minutes.

Oh I forgot.... Chris Boucher could be a candidate for vet minimum or MLE

Yeah, I think you're listing MLE players. However, if KAT stays, he could possibly try to get Russell to sign with the team. Russell and KAT known to be close.

That would be a sweet move if you want to keep KAT (or even if you dont). Mitch is too injury prone to be your big minutes 5.

Would miss the clutch 3s and defense from McBride but DDV brings a better all around game, on offense at least.

We have way too many good players who are just too small for their positions versus league average. JB & Deuce are small guards and both are more 2s than PGs. Hart is a small 2/3/PF. OG is a small PF. Mikal is a small, skinny 3/PF. Even Kat is a small (yet getting fat) C. Only Mitch, always injured, is big for his position.

And unlike the Pacers we have lots of good-great one way players instead of two-way players. Where did they get Nexmith and Nemhard from? How do they protect TJ? TJ is a small Hart who doesn't make dumb passes and hits open 3s. Maybe it just comes down to coaching. :(
