Its sickening how much the refs are helping the Lakers secure the 8th seed.

They have no shame.

We do not want the bulls on our side of the bracket.

and i feel they would win the brooklyn nets matchup so it would be Heat-Bulls in the second round. That would be a tough grind it out series. The bulls wouldn't win but they would play the heat really physical.

Why? you fear the super-team that just lost to the Raptors at the UC? Bulls are one of the easiest playoff opponents available.

Nope. Bulls would get swept.

Exactly his company already controls marketing, he has his own club inside Barclays and that wouldn't have to change with him giving up his share. He's giving up pennies for millions.

Got to give you credit... You don't care how many players the Bulls have out. You just hate them with all your guts.

Yep, that super team you keep bashing loses to teams like Cleveland, Washington, and Toronto. That super team completely sucks and will get destroyed in the playoffs.

Its said that everytime I see you post, its almost always something about the Bulls "sucking".

Honestly I think he's just doing this to regain his allegiance to the NY Knicks. He sees the momentum the Knicks are gaining in the confidence and Contender status. It's a real possibility of a huge playoff run and Championship for the team Jay-Z has been a die-hard fan of since a child.

He will be there in the Garden with Melo celebrating with us if we win. It would be inappropriate to do it while still owning the Nets. He's sort of like a front runner type fan.

SO he did this to prepare for his Knick fandom again while still making money. Win Win for him! :D

P.S. He can still have his club inside Barclays because he still owns a small share in the "Barclays Center". He just sold his share with the "Brooklyn Nets" franchise. Two different shares

His new sports agency is actually a sham and an outlandish ploy solely to quietly regain his allegiance to the Knicks. Jay-Z is Skyfall.

Serious note, this agent crap is just more of Jay being a poor man's Russell Simmons/P. Diddy to me. Might be a more valid topic in the hip hop thread, but I think as a businessman...Jay loses out to a number of other rap entrepreneurs. Fifty even has a case just off Vitamin Water and being the first real legit sports involved businessman when he jumped into the boxing game head first.

i mean his net worth's around half a billion dollars and beyonce is at about 300 mill... so if I was Jay, I wouldn't have a problem losing out to other entrepreneurs

On the real, Jay-Z is well past 50 in the entrepreneurship game. 50 cent had Vitamin Water, Jay-Z's everywhere.

1) Jay-Z has Roc Nation. Roc Nation is everywhere and anywhere. Rihanna, J. Cole, Wale, Meek Mill, Shakira, etc. are some of the artists he manages alone.

He also has a ton of supporting cast members on the label, i.e. Timbaland, Jahlil Beats, No I.D. ,Stargate, James Fauntleroy, Makeba Riddick. Look at some of the top songs over the past few years and you'll see some of these names in the credits.

2) Jay-Z still owns the masters to Reasonable Doubt. HUGE money maker. I'm not sure about all the other Roc-A-Fella masters, but Reasonable Doubt is a huge cash cow.

3) he made hundreds of millions of dollars flipping Roc-A-Fella and Rocawear.

4) he co-owns the 40/40 club.

5) Over the years, he's been a sponsor of Cristal, Ace of Spades, Budweiser, and now his new liquor D'Usse. Ace of Spades makes a ton of money. Budweiser's a money maker for Jay. Cristal was a money maker for Jay.

6) Was executive producer of the soundtrack of NBA 2k13, which has been one of the highest selling sports video games in a long time.

I think Jay-Z is content

Fifty caught lightning in a bottle though. He just signed onto an endorsement deal and struck it rich when they got bought out. I liken him more to a lottery winner than an entrepreneur in that respect.

Jay might not be Russ but who knows where this agency is going. They have two high profile clients already in Cruz and Cano.

Dre and Jimmy founding Beats impresses me and I can't believe I didn't think of that idea.

Fifty got into the boxing game though and the value there if he hits as a promoter will absolutely blow away the value of baseball clients. In terms of promoters in boxing, there are only two big names that dominate the sport and Fifty has actually already stolen some clients (Gamboa for instance)...he's had growing pains in the business, but that move...if successful will prove Fifty's no fluke and it could propel him beyond Jay.

Make no mistake, I'm not saying Jay's a bad business man. But every venture he's had was follow besides the soundtrack to 2K which honestly...not a big deal in the scheme of things...and on his "I'll do that too" maneuvers, he's almost always second best.

I can't stand Jay-Z or Beyonce. Their self-indulgence is tacky at this point to me.

That being said, I expect Lebron to sign with him

My other issue is how he seems to bail on ventures prematurely, this Nets thing is another example but he jumped ship on Def Jam (which wasn't really a success to me...he left so many artists on the shelf in his tenure), left Dame Dash behind, and now the Nets. I can't tell if he's selling high or if he just goes on these whims then loses interest.

Btw Beats by Dre is a great example of innovative and brilliant plays from a musician. Dre knows how to automate his money...dude doesn't even have to produce beats that he's credited for any more.

i think with most of Jay's prior ventures, he left to go on to something even bigger.

I do agree he's jumped ships prematurely except for the whole Roc-A-Fella situation.

Dame Dash was single handedly bringing the Roc to its decline right around the time Jay-Z was making the Blueprint 2. He was putting the wrong people up at leadership positions, spending crazy amounts of money, picking the wrong fights with business execs, etc.

He is the sole reason that he's been blackballed from the music industry as a whole. Jay-Z was a smart mofo... not only did he get rid of his two business partners... but he essentially kept everything once he became Def Jam prez.

What's Dash up to now? From what I remember, he was foreclosing some condos and is pretty much broke.

Biggs? I heard he's in jail now on some drug trafficking charge.

The rest of the Roc that hated on Jay-Z? Doing nothing.
