I really would’ve preferred signing JaMychael Green over Portis tbh, and I like crazy eyes II

Not really. We had zero power forwards. Knox and Iggy aren’t fours. We spent on three. Mitch is the only center on the roster and we can’t assume he’s got the ankle issues behind him.

I honestly am indifferent because I like Frank’s potential but his value diminishes more and more if there’s no plan to play him. And when he does play he doesn’t snatch it.

But we are overloaded at the wing IMO.

It was funny though and it does get pretty hypocritical on here cause many people use players FG% as a way to say how good or bad they are but don't bring up that many high FG% players are because they do most of their FG's taking it to the basket or under/around the basket so why just point that out on Payton unless it's just cause you're trying to prove your point that you don't like him. That's his FG% no matter how he gets it. Everyone knows he hasn't been a great shooter but he did get his FT% up to just under 75% last year so maybe he's been working on it and will be better if he start to actually put some 3 balls up. It sounds like maybe he has the same shyt going on in his head that Frank does where he just doesn't have any confidence in so instead of still putting some up and trying he'd rather take it to the basket or make the great pass to get the assist, which isn't always a bad thing but if these guys like Frank and Payton want to get better then they need to put the 3 point shots up in actual games and not just at practice.

Naah, oversized wings are now 4’s in today’s NBA. Knox can play the 4.

for our sake he better learn it...him guarding perimeter players and having to navigate screens is a no go from me.

lot easier to bulk up a bit and become a better rebounder than trying to be something he's not which is a slow footed wing.

Lol if we traded for another forward..

He’s a center.

He's 6'9. He can play both. Like Portis, Randle, and Taj

nah, he litteraly can't shoot outside the paint. He's a mobile 5 man. He would absolutely destroy your spacing if you had him as a 4 and had a Mitch or someone at the 5.

Hes_On_Fire wrote:Ya'll want to talk about Frank after 2 seasons yet Elfriid Payton is literally the same player entering his 6th NBA season.

The guy still can't shoot or play defense. He is an average NBA PG and a backup at best.

He's just a shiny new object so everyone will make him out to be better than what he is.

To say that... you really didn't watch him from his years in Orlando to his time in New Orleans. Last year he was more confident, especially before he got hurt and his shot (while definitely NOT a thing of beauty) is improved. And his defense is also not bad. In fact, he came into the league heralded for his defense.

Now, do I think Frank can reach this level? Yes! But Payton is no scrub

Well said and i agree. Saying he doesn't play defense is just ridiculous and whoever says that obviously doesn't know much about his game and is just talking to talk. I wouldn't say he's Frank level defense cause Frank has that crazy wingspan he knows how to use but he's better at everything else then Frank.

Definitely a dilemma because he's definitely not strong enough to guard 4s and too slow footed to guard 3s. Hopefully he's improved on his lateral movement and understanding

I think I figured out the obsession with Frank. You guys see yourselves in him. Scrappy guy with no game, but maybe if gets a shot, a chance, he can make it! He’s like your Rudy, I think I get it now - living vicariously through Frank.

Ummmmmmm......nope. Each Boston and Nets player you have compared to each other the Celtics have the better player.

Yep, that and the Nets had to renounce RHJ to fit KD and Kyrie's contracts so he's not even going to be on the team this upcoming season.

The Nets are losing 5 players that contributed to last years team. DLo, Demarre Carrol, Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Ed Davis and Shabazz Napier. The franchise doesn't win games, the players do. And these 5 players were key components of last years success.

Now they could try to sign productive vets for the vet minimum but without KD this upcoming season is clearly not a contending season so I don't see any bandwagon jumping vets latching on for the vet min.

I wasn’t arguing the nets are better - but that they are built similarly and I expect them to likewise regress...

more like he's 6'6", has a beautiful stroke that you know with repetitions should be decent, can handle the ball, can defend multiple positions.

so in conclusion you're wrong.

while that is true Knox plays on the perimeter as well and he is an atrocious defender...Randle has no business being as bad as he is on defense...he just needs to care more especially if we want him to be a lead dog.
