Actually wouldn't even mind him starting the season......call me naive or overly optimistic but actually Bogdan is a fine offensive player and his style of offense really fits us well too....IMO if he can regain his form, his offensive impact is very close to someone like Markannen whom we'd have to give up multiple assets for. I am still holding out hope that he could get those 16points on high efficiency....but of course I do understand that this is primarily to try to trade him...

Let's bring in Halifraud and Joel while you're at it.
We could simply go after Miles Bridges instead if this is only about improving the team while not being able to root for it afterwards.
Heh, you say that now, but watch someone float that idea very-very soon here.

I’m with you on most points outside of Lauri who is 7‘0 with a game to match Brunson perfectly.

Respect your position, and I get it, too. Like, no matter what, there's no way that I would ever want to watch Kyrie Irving play in a Knick uniform. However, if we're restricting entrance to anyone who hasn't pissed off Knicks fans, then this is going to be a very very short list.
That said, I think if we're arguing Randle v KAT, then everyone who can play the SF/PF position is fair game. KD, Lebron, Paul George, etc. Lebron makes us a better team, and I'd argue a much much better one. If we have one more season before extensions kick in, and the tax apron comes into effect, then this is the time to make those tough moves.
I generally agree with you, but the optics are bringing in someone like LeBron seems like a culture killer to me. He wins a championship in NY -- or even just signs or get traded here -- instantly makes it more about LeBron than it is about the NYK.
There's zero chance he's leaving LA, anyway.

I can't imagine a situation where OG leaves. The difference between a contender and pretender. Not having full Birds on iHart gave me pause but it does seem like he has prioritized a return.
The numbers are definitely getting tight. If the Bojan money puts us where we can't do anything... smh. Why not just let Evan expire? I suppose we shall see. This FO has been pretty good with $$$ so far so maybe they have something.
Being hard cap for one season isn't the issue if you're comfortable with your team. If you've heard anything from our coaching staff and players, it seems to me that the FO will stay put and only go after legitimate upgrades. Aside from the JB/Randle extension, all this is pretty much moot with the cap jumping the way it's projected for next season and the following.
I don't have an issue running it back. I'm just a little surprised that could be their thinking given the Bojan trade. Why take on the extra year of salary? Maybe we did better than the FO expected this season.
It might all make sense after we see what I-Hart and OG's 1st year salary looks like.

Why on Earth would you start Bog over DD?

Bojan is really bad defensively so we wouldn’t start him based on that alone. He could get some bench minutes though if we go into the season with him on the roster still and maybe look for a deadline deal if nothing happens this summer.

Caruso helped the Lakers win the bubble title. They weren't the same after his departure. He was inserted into Chicago's starting line-up and was the engine (along with Derozan) that helped them get to the play-in. He's a perennial DPOY candidate. When you run into Boston, MIL, PHI, or IND in the playoffs next year, having two DPOY type players throw at Tatum, Brown, Maxey, Lillard, Giannis, etc. to slow them down for stretches while Brunson and Randle go to work on the other end... is a recipe for advancement. IMO, of course.
People underestimated Hart and OG's impact before they starting playing with us. The same would hold true for Caruso. And he's got 4-5 more years of ball left in him. Plenty for several title runs... he checks a lot of boxes for us. A true Nova-like player. I believe this shrewd front office will give him a strong look.
He averaged 6.5ppg for the Lakers in that playoff run, and Rondo was more impactful than him during the finals, should we go out and sign him? You're talking about him starting for the Bulls, he would be a bench player here, his next contract is going to see him getting $12-18 million per season, which is entirely too much for a team that already has a bench player who will be making $20 million per. There is a salary cap and a new CBA, for what he's paid and what he does McBride is more impactful at $4 million per than Caruso will be on his next deal.
It makes no sense, he'd be paid more than the starter, DDV would be making less than him. You're caught up in names, McBride is fine, there's no need to go after Caruso. The new CBA kicks in 2 weeks, OG & IHart are going to get paid, Brunson and Randle are due extension, you don't trade for Caruso.
Hart makes more than DDV... and he's a bench player FYI... Ginobli made more than lots of the Spurs' starters... Clarkson, Jamal Crawford, and dozens and dozens of others. Caruso making a few million more than starter DDV isn't a reason to stay away from him. We're trying to win a title in 2025, 2026 and/or 2027. That's the immediate goal. Caruso over McBride puts us in stronger position to win a title in 2025 and, perhaps, beyond. It's fine if you don't agree. That's just my position because I put a premium on winning, experienced high IQ players who are excellent defenders and excellent team-players. A healthy core and Caruso puts us right up there with Boston and whoever comes out of the West IMO.
You're right, we won't agree, because to me it just doesn't make sense. He's not a Ginobili level talent, he's just a really nice defensive player that struggles to score, and he only defends 1 and 2s, it's not like he's some great multi-positional defender he has a small range that McBride also covers. You're advocating paying someone 3-5x as much as the guy he's replacing to do only a marginally better job at it. Also, there's the issue of injuries, he's played 237 games the last 4 seasons, for comparisons Embiid who is always hurt has played 224 games and OG has played 207, so we're talking about a recently turned 30 year old player that has been missing games left and right.
He's not going to push us up there with the Celtics, because he can't score reliably enough for them to worry about anything he's doing on offense, and he's not going to guard Brown or Tatum. It makes no sense.

Yeah, that's where I'm getting at. And I'm absolutely fine with him as a bench piece. I thought he was getting into a groove and getting that stroke back before that hand injury (and the ankle injury). I think he vibes off Josh well, too.

And he’s 35, had two surgeries, saw a drop in production, isn't a great defender….
Its all whatever though because we need spacing

Those are apples to oranges comparisons. If there's a clear upgrade, go with that. He's your 9th man that can light it up on limited playing time. What are you expecting from the 9th guy off the bench?

We need to strike and Markenen would be a big get. Bogs McBride and 4FRPs for Markenen. His salary is only 18.6 and won't qualify for a crazy super max contract after it expires

Who will leave the rotation? OG, Donte? I doubt Thibs would play Randle or Lauri as a Center.
