Most of our guys are really good. This team needs a playoff run to get their feet wet and then next year, they’ll be among the top teams in the NBA. Hart is a bench player in my book though.

Then we'd need (and need anyway, regardless) another top rebounder (an IHART) plus a top sniper (DDV). Or someone who can do both like Randle. Relax guys, just kidding with the last one!

BOS has won 10 of 11 & is only 5 games behind CLE for the #1 seed

BOS remaining schedule

CLE remaining schedule

So if CLE drops some, all of a sudden these games against us that they may have laid down for are now must win games for CLE & BOS

Overcoming a 5 game lead with 12 games left? CLE would have to have a monumental collapse for BOS to catch them. I don't think either team is worried about us at all. We are more likely to fall a spot or two than BOS catching CLE.

Yes, we do, but they aren’t that hard to get. This group may not be entirely ready after the big moves, but you can see the direction. No-nonsense guys, fundamentally sound players, willing passers, off-the-ball-skills, versatile players. This will be a good team.

We could start Mitch to push Hart to the bench. Rebounding solved. Defense should improve too. Sniper off the bench? Shouldn't be difficult to find. DDV kinda sucked off the bench for us btw. He didn't turn it on until he got the starter role IIRC.

We have a solid contender foundation. They need to gel and upgrade the bench some.

Some have suggested we are better off falling to 4th. Not sure where I stand on that one but, I could be convinced it makes sense to want CLE over BOS. I have not given it much thought. Need to see more from this team with everyone healthy. Not sure we will have that luxury.

That’s interesting, could be that the Knicks aren’t playing for anything meaningful by the last 2-4 games of the season as well though. Maybe we are the team that mails it in

We'll be playing to reacclimate Brunson with the team, he'll come back with 4-5 games left I would guess.

Hopefully you’re right, that would be a good outcome for his return

This is tricky... If Cavs go #1, we want to be #4, if Celtics go #1, we are happy to be #3 and don't want 4 or 5.

You are less afraid of Cleveland? I kinda have the same attitude I just don't feel confident right now that it really matters.

As long as we have our monster Mitch, I don't fear the Cavs.
Just looking at the front court:
Mitch > Allen
Towns > Mobley

We can go big with them and we will have them in girth.
Also Brunson ~ Spida
Garland ~ Bridges
I think we match up favorably to them roster-wise.

The problem is they have a more complete team defense (personnel) even if their offense isn't as strong and of course I think they have a more innovative coach.
