At least from reporting doesn't sound like the FO was thrilled thibs refused to adjust the starting lineup.

Not having any any deuce with the starters less Hart basically all year is pretty wild we never even attempted it.

Yes a shooter in the SL for Hart would be big

Not at all concerned about losing jHarts rebounding?

Cause outside of kat - og, mikal, Brunson aren't good rebounders.
Nobody thinking that far ahead. Especially since Deuce is small and shoots erratically.

I guess Mitch not Deuce, as Bluntson said.

Or a new PF
Mitch wasn't available.

The Thunder could have won a title with Thibs as coach with the team Presti assembled, sure he wouldn't have played as deep into it but it was his dream roster and it is really really good.

Nothing to glean from who was the coach of that team to be fair.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

Per Edwards:

"Jenkins and Brown appear to be the front-runners as of now. However, New York has tossed around the idea of speaking with James Borrego for its vacancy, per league sources. Borrego, a CAA client, is known around the league for his offensive creativity and analytics-forward approach"

So far they’ve wanted to talk to:

5 coaches under contract
Possibly a 3rd free agent coach

Just a very normal, by the book coaching search.

Lol. Agreed. For the record, I'm not a Borrego fan. He sucked in Charlotte imo

Delay tactics for Kidd. Lol.

If they were in love with one of Brown or Jenks.... Theyd be hired by now.

Sounds like a great lead assistant . But he's in that role for Pelicans, would he do a lateral move?

From the same article:

While it’s not ideal, the Knicks don’t necessarily need a head coach by Wednesday’s NBA Draft. New York holds the No. 50 pick. Having a head coach in place by the start of free-agency negotiations next week would be beneficial for the Knicks. However, until further notice, not having one signals that the franchise could be keeping the core of its roster intact.

With all that said, New York can continue to search for a Thibodeau replacement at its own pace.

— Fred Katz contributed

It'd be good to have a coach before summer league, if not by the draft. To evaluate existing rookies plus any new ones.

I don’t know much about Borrego. But in his last season as an nba head coach the Hornets had a winning record and he comes from the Popovich lineage.

The process reached a new stage last week, when New York held interviews with former Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins and former Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown. Both candidates interviewed over multiple days and were impressive, per league sources. The 40-year-old Jenkins was fired by the Grizzlies just before the start of the playoffs after, essentially, six full seasons manning the sideline and posting a 250-214 record. Brown was fired by the Kings early in the regular season. Aside from his time in Sacramento, he’s been a head coach for both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was also an assistant on Steve Kerr’s Golden State Warriors staff.

If only Dolan had the brains to try and hire away Presti years ago, what could have been.

Rather interview someone like him than Frank vogul and Mike browns. Don’t really know a ton about him but He had them winning 43 games his last year there and they’re one of the worst run organizations in the league. Plus he’s not super old at 47. So I wouldn’t write him off just now.

I would be surprised if they took Borrego. It seems they want someone with experience coaching in the playoffs. If they were looking for an associate HC for either Jenkins or Brown he would be great though. Both of them could use another voice on that side since neither of them are known to be great X and O guys.
