If the deal happens as reported (color me pessimistic), please deal Douglas for a backup PG ASAP and I am ready to go to war.

I will bow to GONYK if this reported deal goes down. I was/am convinced we got to give up 2/3 . If we can keep Feilds and Gallo it is so on !!!!! N

According to sources upon hearing the rumor of a Knicks trade, Carmelo Anthony was seen streaking through the hallways of an unnamed hotel. Witnesses reported seeing a rather tall black man wearing a Yankee fitted, and an Earl Monroe throwback Knicks jersey, run through the hotel's lobby without wearing any pants. One eye witness claimed the man stopped at the hotel's lounge bar, and proceeded to do the Harlem Shake. Police confirmed the identity of the man to be Carmelo Anthony, but no charges were pressed against the All-star forward.

We will continue to update this story as details emerge...

"I don't think we have anything going, but we're getting a feeling for possibilities," Knicks president Donnie Walsh said prior to the Knicks 117-103 victory over the Sixers at the Garden. "We have a better feeling for what's going to happen."

"Denver doesn't have much of a choice," said one Knicks source. "Carmelo has told them since the summer that he wants to end up in New York."

He later told reporters: "If you get something that will help your team, then you get excited. It hasn't come to the point I'm excited."

"I don't feel good or bad," Walsh added. "These things take two to tango. But we're out there looking and seeing if we can do something. Some of it is not real big, trying to fill in the blanks within our own team."

Let me translate this for you all:

"Denver won't talk seriously with us, but thats ok, we have an understanding from Carmelo that he will opt out if we can't trade for him, and he will sign with us, even if slightly below market value."

pretty much. Except we will obviously make one serious push at the deadline and Denver will either crack or lose him for nothing. In the end, I'm of the believe the two stooges in Denver will break when faced with the reality of Melo bolting after they knocked out of the 1st round and they have nothing to show for it.

Me like

Gallo could play some point forward and combine with Douglas to fill in the backup PG minutes, but who's the backup shooting guard?

To be fair though, Broussard never said it was close.
