Melo is a sneaky good playmaker too. Can't wait to watch the first game.

lol and of course if we don't make the deal it's "you do NOT pass up a future hall of famer because you wana keep role players"

haters gon keep hatin.

EXACTLY. Dont matter what we would have done. They would have found the negative angle. And im not even into that hater theory. But its easy to see here.

GONYK wrote:It's the fact that it didn't have to come to this. Melo could have prevented this kind of deal if he chose to do so. He'd have his money, his city, and a stronger team. Instead, he went pu$$y and now we are paying for it.

It is amazing that we arguably have a top 7 NBA player gift-wrap himself to a team & city that needs another impact player. And yet many people here are bent over the fact that he didn't do enough to become a Knick.

Sorry but Carmelo put himself way, way out there for the Knicks. He basically burned his boats in Denver and all but made himself untradeable to anyone but NY. Lebron didn't do that. Amare didn't do it. Wade didn't do it and neither did Kobe, Shaq or any other superstar in the past 25 odd years. Guys on the level of Carmelo are rare and if you have one present themselves to you on your doorstep you'd be wise to take them in.

Like most I would have loved to have had him for nothing but once the Nets came back in NY had to pony up.

*Shocking news*
Melo is a greedy person just like 99.9% of people. He's a drama queen just like many NBA players of this generation.

Frank Isola from Daily News was on SNY Live and reported the Nuggets do not want Wilson Chandler because he becomes a restricted free agent after the season. They want Fields instead. They want Gallo, Fields, Curry, 1st round pick and Felton.

He also said Dolan has taken over the discussions on a possible trade instead of Walsh and D'antoni.

Walsh and D'Antoni think it's a bit too much.

Isiah is basically our GM through Dolan now.

If Denver turns this deal down, I walk away proudly. Melo knows we offered the moon for him and if he decides to go to NJ, then good luck in NJ.

Except that you really can never be sure of that. What if the new CBA includes an NFL-like "franchise" label? What if Melo decides he wants the money more and re-signs with Denver?

Wouldn't do the deal then.
