That's 3 first rounders, a decent young prospect and expiring contracts for 'Melo and O'Quinn. Knicks fans would hate it, Celtics fans would hate it. Phil probably does it if the alternative was the next best offer (Clippers non-Redick/Griffin/Paul/Jordan offer), Ainge probably does it if the alternative to underpaying for 'Melo was overpaying for Jimmy Butler.

That's a fine deal for us.

We'd have to go like 5-30 over the rest of the season to get top 3, 10-25 should get top 5, but you never know. Its a close race, and Melo will give us that couple extra wins to push us back

it's weird, last draft i was hoping for a top 3 pick, this draft i want a top 2 pick and it's way more loaded.

I forget where I posted it, but its extremely extremely extremely unlikely (think 1.6% chance) that the team with the worst record gets the 1st pick. By my estimates, we should still have one of the elite pg prospects available at 8th, and given that the furthest you can drop is 3 picks, as long as we end bottom 5 I'll be happy

i said i wouldn't do it, but I've already been dreaming of pairing Ball with Kp and willy. i like alot of the other prospects but i don't know. maybe it's the nominative determinism

If it's true we have shifted to talking to the clippers on a deal not involved their core players, then I think it happens quick. That's obviously a last resort. Going from the cavs for love to the clippers for scraps means this thing is going to happen real soon.

Yep.. and it may not even get done this year but as of now I don't think he retires a Knick like I had once thought. I think the end is near because all this chatter could've been stopped with the quickness. I also don't think Dolan cares if Melo stays or goes like he used to because of that incident where he made Melo apologize and Melo didn't want to. You remember what that was about?

The on/off numbers aren't good for Melo.

But his production numbers is best on the team. They combine the two and his rating is second best.

Yeah.. I was just using those numbers to refute the On/Off claims.

Look every player should have the chance to play for a championship and every team should have the chance to draft their own studs. Does it always work out? No.. we need a ton of luck. But every team needs a ton of luck. Melo should go try and win a ring.. and he belongs in a city that is way more low key than playing in NY. I thought his personality was good for NY.. but I learned early on that it wasn't. It is what it is. My disdain for Melo and my excitement for him getting traded is more personal with some of the posters on this board for being straight dikheads. I have a very long memory and I'm a very patient person and it's about to payoff.

The truth is I try to be compassionate.. and I have empathy for Carmelo Anthony even though he has things in life I'll never have. But it's all relative. Nothing can be worse than having all this ish out in the public about you.. even if they are true.
