The main reason I'm so optimistic is because I love defense and he's a huge game changer in that department. I can be patient with everything else.

keep him, give him at least 25 minutes a night (at PG, SG and even SF sometimes) and he will deliver. I strongly believe that..

Need to keep this kid and see what we got I’m not ready to give up on him yet I really believe he’ll thrive around better teammates.

Being patient with frank will pay off. May not be a superstar or even a star. But will be a damn valuable player who will probably impact the game like a star

If you like Frank, let him go. He will get a hard time finding a spot at the rotation.

I hate Frank, the kid will very likely be out of the league as he is a horrible basketball player but even I'm willing to wait and see instead of sell him for a 2nd round pick. Maybe, just maybe someone can make a half decent basketball player out of him, end of rotation type.

Man this kid blows...stupid Phil.

Dudes really in here stanning for Frank.......

If we get a better player for him let him go. The kid ain't that special. Plays ok defense sure. But not good enough that it offsets are terrible he is offensively.

this all confuses me too.

Makes me wonder if DSJ has the same exact trade value as Frank too.

And if we do get a better player, I'll support it

But y'all out here begging for a 2nd rounder. You want me to go over the probability of a 2nd rounder being anything better than a benchwarmer? It's not good, but you'll say, well Frank ain't anything but a benchwarmer, and yeah right now he isn't, but he's literally just a consistent 3 pointer away from being a contributor to a team

If all we're getting back is a 2nd, it's more likely that Frank develops a shot than the 2nd pans out. Not every 2nd is gonna be Mitch or Trier

And y'all keep underselling his defense. It's legitimately really good, not just "ok."

Instead of developing Frank, coach **** face decided to get a scrub like Mudiay "right" and now we're giving him away for nothing. Fizdale sucks, the front office has no plan, we might as well give Isiah Thomas a call to run the show again, at least the off court shenanigans were entertaining.

He's gotten exactly that over the past 2 years and he hasn't delivered at all and if anything he got worse... What makes you think that that changes?

Not a hater of Frank I just sometimes wonder why people give him so much leeway with his all-time bad level offensive performance and flame other people on our team at ridiculous levels.

Like this board hates Mudiay for example and yet Mudiay's True Shooting percentage last year was astronomically higher than Frank's and ast% was higher as well....

Mostly it's defense. Dude's really good on that end, especially when it comes to defending point guards. I just think it's a mistake to trade him for next to nothing when if he could consistently hit 37% of his 3s, he'd be a valuable role player

If you can get a pick in the 20s, get an upside player like a Bazley, I think that's a good trade, but for a 2nd rounder? I just think that's selling low

Mavs 37, i do it in a heartbeat. Frank is worth the gamble to give him 1-2 years more. If he gets it together he is an awesome fit beside Luka

I think this is fair but what really points to Frank having a consistent 3 ball any time soon? He shot 30% on catch and shoot 3's last year. Worse than Mudiay and Vonleh... Realistically he's going to have to get a lot better than that to have a significant role offensively... I guess maybe because he was at 36% his rookie year there's cause for optimism? Then you factor in the injury concerns...IDK Frank really did as much as he could to turn me off of him last year so maybe I'm just terribly biased at this point

His defense is good but if he doesn't improve his jumper (at the very least) he's going to have be Roberson level good to be playable and I just think that while that's a realistic expectation it's not something that's automatically a given either

I feel ya. See my other post responding directly to you for more but yeah I agree a 2nd rounder is too low but I can see why the front office might view the cap flexibility as being more advantageous than trying to develop Frank at this point.. It wouldn't be my choice but hey I'm not the one in charge lol

Mavs probably asked for 55 with Frank for 37 and Perry just wouldn't give up that sweet 2RP.
