Please explain.
All we can do is speculate at this point. What's not speculation is Leon has been in this business his entire professional career. Leon is also a lawyer. What's not speculation is -Leon has seen this scenario from a coaches and players pov because he represented these guys during his entire career. What we do know is nothing leaks with him. We also know---how many times did we say there was no way he was going to accomplish something and then it was accomplished?
Most New York fans are informed on one end but on the other they are emotional and not rational at times. How can this narrative "they don't have a plan" of a professional with Leon's profile and track record exist? What- he all of a sudden forgot how to conduct the same business he's been conducting his entire career?!
With all of that said. "IF" the plan is to hire Bryant. Leon knows that the majority of the fans will ignore Bryants resume(which is extensive; or won't even seek it out) and only
focus on him never having the technical title of "head coach". Therefore, Leon will have to create this public process of going after several coaches knowing that "none" will be available-- so--- when he ultimately hires Bryant the masses are more accepting. When the reality is, Bryant is more than qualified to handle the head coaching job and be successful(See his resume) at it. Seems to me like he's participating in head coaching activities just based on what I read in his resume--what I've seen and heard in several videos. All of the teams that he's been a part of have had success. Not to mention, several elite players respect him, believe in him and have progressed because of him.
My position is I don't know what their plan is or who they will hire. This is just a hope and theory. The plan may even be to eventually make Kidd the head coach. Time is the only one who will show us what the plan was...
