the biggest question about the Miami smokescreen (if it is a smokescreen) is to what end?..the only explanation is hype and the element of surprise which fits LeBron's personality to a T...

I was reading this article: http://www.msg.com/blogs/charlie-zegers ... ee-1.45997 and its so true the Miami rumors could be plants by the LBJ team to get more attention seriously i wont believe anything anymore until hes wearing the jersey.. I'm also curious to see what MSG will have to say about him on their Knicks night live special for him tonight after the decision, I really want to see what they will say if he doesnt go to NY.

What time is the MSG special on?

Yeah he sure seems like a smart boy doesn't he? :D

Random Fact: James in HS was near the top of his class and had a 3.75 gpa.

And we already know how congenial he is in interviews and how apparently savvy he is with business and media relations up the ying yang.

If this all is one big smokescreen someone should get paid $$$$ for orchestrating all this.

Or..

If he wants to join up with 2 other potential HOF players in Miami, and potentitally be one of the greatest forces the NBA will ever see

stop it.

LeBron has NO NARRATIVE in Miami. He's Wade's bitch. Wade and Riley run that town.

You end up hating Chicago, but at least you respect them, and can see LeBron has a genuine shot at some rings there. He goes to Miami, it looks like there is a chance of him getting titles, but is a big crapshoot still. I don't know any time in the history of the NBA what Miami would do has been discussed. Can a team win ANY titles with 3 top players and really nothing else? One sees a young team with talent taking them to school and running up the score when one of them are out, or they get injured.

No...they were just re-reporting the US Magazine story. That's the problem here...stupid reports get out and people run with them and take them as fact. Come on now, be smarter.

Coooooouuullllddd be? I mean for everyone that is saying "I want watchin' this ****", how many people believe that? Especially AFTER he picks their team? We know everything that is happening the minute it happens, we'll know when he makes his pick and then everyone (even the "I'm done with this" group) will be right back hootin' and hollaring and congratulating each other.

I still believe. It just makes too much sense for James and the Knicks.

LeBron staying in Cleveland has a chance to make him the NBA version of Ernie Banks. Banks has the nickname "Mr. Cub". Didn't leave, and didn't win any titles.

He is argued to be the best baseball player to never win a title.

no chance he's booked a party in Miami...toom any people (including low level employees) would then be in the know and it would get leaked...

TrueWarrior wrote:The media is slowly trying to sell everyone that picking NY is best for the league. Ive heard it a few times on ESPN and it will only get stronger.

As someone who is a Knicks fan, the best thing for the league is really Cleveland. I'm having trouble understanding how he leaves Cleveland. What kind of posture is he taking? His team won over 60 games and it wasn't a situation in the playoffs in which he performed overwhelmingly good and his teammates let him down. So now, he's basically saying he needs better players....including one of the best in the league...to get him a ring.

If I'm LeBron....I'm not sure I want that as my legacy. As a marketable athlete, I think going anywhere hurts him. Going to NY is somewhat acceptable because, I think, there's much more of a focus on the marketplace than the competitive advantage. I think fans will accept that. Going to Miami, in the fashion he would be should he go there, would do nothing for his legacy and likely severely hurt it.

A move to Miami with an hour long special will come across so poorly on TV (sticking it to Cleveland in particular) that I still cannot see him doing it. I don't care where the show is being taped, I still think he stays in Cleveland.

We have not seen the media really react to the "show" aspect yet particularly if he doesn't stay in Cleveland. At least not in the fashion I believe they will....and it will not likely be pretty. ESPN will let it slide but they'll also likely feel a lot of the wrath of the non ESPN media and fans alike.

Moocow, shtolky, kane, trademarkk, echelon, sol, truth serum, etc

Whats next in this movie script?

NY is going to pick up steam in a little bit. Just a tad. Dropping hints here and there to say how it is prob better for the league. How NYC is such a great city, blah blah. Ive already heard some of it from Legler and the guy interviewing him.

And then BOOM he signs with New York.

And yet Banks is best known as the guy that didn't win any titles.
