Its one thing I think you can safely blame on Melo.

It's no coincidence that CP3 rumors suddenly pop up now. That's how CAA controls the Knicks front office. CP3 is the ball of yarn, we are the cat.

remember this: We don't want to trade all our assets for Melo--do it and you'll get CP3...really? Swell. Here's everything Denver (Even though you have piss-all leverage). CAA gets paid in full, a year later, we don't get CP3 (because surprise surprise, he's looking to get paid in full).

Jeremy Lin gets contract offer. CP3 rumors return (not helped by Melo shouting he's coming to NY in a few years the other day), despite not having any basis in reality (salary cap, assets), and now it's somehow thrown into discourse on whether to match Lin or not.

CAA benefits greatly from Lin leaving the Knicks. Melo becomes the face of the franchise again, and JR Smith is guaranteed to get paid next year. Otherwise making him take a pay-cut to secure bird rights looks mighty stupid. It's also no coincidence that Melo and JR are the only two knuckleheads to comment on Lin's deal.

CAA's tentacles are in this organization. Make no mistake they're pushing the agenda here. Dolans too stupid to see we're getting used. They used us during the decision and melo-drama, and now they're going to sway us into making the monumental mistake of letting Lin go.
