This is dead wrong. Felton was terrible in the PnR. Amare scored more in isolation playing with Raymond Felton than at any other point in his career.

I don't know how people keep remembering this Raymond Felton who was great in the PnR. He simply didn't exist.

This is from that ESPN article comparing Lin and Felton's play last year...

As far as passing on pick-and-roll plays, Lin and Felton are almost identical. Felton passed the ball on 54 percent of his pick-and-roll plays, while Lin passed it 53 percent of the time. And both players’ teammates had nearly the same field-goal percentage and points per play on those passes. Felton passed it to the roll men more often, while Lin hit the cutters and spot-up shooters more often.

Felton was better at hitting the roll man last year in his worst season. I do think he's a better fit for Amare...the rest of the roster, jury's out.

That's because Felton pretty much ONLY passes it to the roll man. He is extremely predictable as a playmaker.

Do you see Portland moaning that they lost Felton?

Even so, it's not about the stats. The PG position comes down to one thing, and one thing alone: Who runs the offense better?

Can you really tell me Felton ran the team better than Lin?

Hard to run the offense great when you are turning the ball over so much :-) JK

And yet still winning...

A PG is measured by WINS baby... WINS baby... 16-10 for JLin.

I hope to god he falls flat on his face with the Rockets. 85% and sitting out during the playoffs? Go fk yourself china-man.

Can somebody post our record with Lin, Amare, Melo in the same lineup please. To shut these people up..

They played 7 games together I believe...and without actually checking the numbers, I think they were 5-2 with some heavy blowouts. They looked great together, but Felton never got to play with Melo/Amare and he was more focused on getting his star the ball. It's a debatable concept, the fit thing.

Like I said Lin is the better PG. The difference isnt as large as some people believe. Felton could never run the pick and roll with Amare which always irked me. And for whatevr reason Lin only ran PNR with Chandler and Effries, I dont recall seeing Lin to Amare too often either.

because stat never actually sets picks... he always slips the pick right away.

darthkiller wrote:what's the argument for felton being a better fit than Lin?

statistically, Lin is a better shooter, passer, off the dribble and defense.

unless you talking about fitting in with the old and/or fat culture

Statistically Lin has never played a full season. Get outta hea!

They both had extenuating circumstances. Felton did not have Melo. Lin did not play his best with Melo and Amare. With that being said, yes, Felton did run the team better than Lin. He runs the pick and roll with the intention of creating for others much better than Lin. Lin is the better finisher, but was not a better facilitator than Felton.

That's why people like Lin. He's thoughtful with his word usage.

Too bad he wasn't thoughtful with his pen stroke.....

You're absolutely right.

Jeremy Lin's youth, upside, intelligence, humbleness and winning attitude just wasn't a good fit on the Knicks roster.

Hey! how I want your signature line, how can I do that?
