Ive always felt that Frank was only suited for a guard role with a dominant ball handler / play maker next to him

that doesn't have to be another guard as we saw with Kobe and MJ in the triangle or LBJ in whatever he tells his coaches to call his offense

Frank would do great in Houston

obviously he needs to hit shots though no matter where that happens

but if DSJ and RJ are taking the ball down the defenses throats then Frank can play D and spot up, as he better be ready to do this year

This actually one of the big reasons I think Frank will start this season ...ultimately Fizdale is going to coach to his principles and he’ll have to do it in a way that makes Perry and Mills happy .

Frank is best suited to ease RJ’s transition to the nba because he can be useful while allowing RJ to do what he does best(dominate the ball) while protecting him on defense . And at the end of it all RJ’s success is more important because he can be a max player whom the team uses as its offensive star. Also Fizdale has let it be known he’d rather coach a big defensive team .

Smith jr doesn’t fit that at all defensively and he had issues playing off the ball with Luka offensively. It’s hard for me to see it differently with Barrett.

there's zero chance of that

time will tell.
Its because I'm green isn't it?

Frank was more aggressive looking for a shot in the 2nd half, he only attempted 1 in the first half in 15 mins and was not aggressive. finished 3/7 for the game. Did not start the 2nd half most likely due to some head scratching turnovers in the first half. He had a few good moments in the 4th quarter scoring on a drive and making some nice passes, and did at least shoot 40% from 3 on 2/5. Didn't turn it over in the 2nd. Solid defense all game and came away with 2 steals. He'd likely never have seen the court again had he played like he did in the 1st half in an NBA game. Led the team in +/- which is noteworthy.

Letting young players play through their early struggles might yield benefits down the line?

The guy who does the announcing in that clip from Canal+ is George Eddy.
He's super animated and speaks French with a really awesome American accent.
I would love to hear him call a game in English.

Frank shooting well from 3 is very encouraging. He should have an easier time making those shots during the regular season since we have a bunch of guys that will be able to command a double team leaving Frank and our other role players open. France doesn't really have the kind of players like barrettt, dsjr, trier and randle where the defense has to focus on.

only problem still is when he drives to the basket, its still confusing lay-ups, never sure, not a lot of balance!
He never draws a foul or try to provok a contact slowing down then try to finish.
With his physical abilities he should work way more on it, but FIBA bball is absolutely packed inside so makes it a bit more difficult to have time to shoot well.
He also should post up more, thing that he does more often with the Knicks.

Overall, its a great first round for Frank, but it doesnt matter! Now next two games will be vs Lithuania and Australia ! Big time bball !!!!

He just doesn't play around the rim and hangs out around the perimeter. Look at De Colo for example, not the biggest guy but gets underneath the basket at the right times and gets easy buckets for it. Frank should have the size to do some damage around the rim, I don't know if he fears contact or just doesn't have the craftiness to get these opportunities or isn't aware that he's pretty tall. Or maybe it's just that teams are daring him to shoot. But he's been making them pay from 3 so hopefully that opens something up for him. Out of his 7 attempts 5 were 3s, he attempted 2 shots on drives to the rim one successful and one got blocked. Even driving and looking to pass is a rare sight. So for me it's the same criticism as it's been for years now, he still needs to attack more. I actually think there's a good chance they told him this at halftime.

Making threes is a good sign, competition notwithstanding.

He definitely has some brain gas but he has good vision and instincts for passing.

Right now he isn’t the best finisher. But if his shot solidifies I feel it will open up more opportunities to drive for him. It is something he will need to work on gradually but getting his shot right is priority #1.

Disappointing a player who won't be a Knick next year gets so much attention from fans. :-)

If Frank was really good, it probably wouldn't be hard to send Payton somewhere. Or just play Frank at 3. Knox can move to 4.

Mitch-Knox-Frank and you have the playing time.
