Keyword: think. You stated it like a fact in response to someone else earlier. Big difference.

It was a statement...since I don't have a statistical breakdown and the sample size is so small its anyones guess who will be better. I thought some people would be bright enough to infer that that is my opinion.

There's none of that going on the last 2 days...

In what areas is Shump better than Lin at besides defense? How many times did we see Shump straight up dominate games and completely decimate the other teams' defense? I think Shump can be a good/great player in the future, but offensively he wasn't much better than Landry last season.

Your looking at a 10 game stretch called "linsanity". With a full knicks roster Lin will not be putting up the #'s with Melo and Amare needing there touches.

IMO for the knicks team getting back an elite defender and great athlete in shumpert is more important.

People forget that Lin is a large point guard. He is 6-3 and over 200 points. He defense was actually good early on, but the guy went from not playing all year to 45 minutes per game. He got worn out. I did see a decline in a defense but I attribute it to that.

I'm getting tired of idiot media members trying to spin Lin's contract making it seem as though he has to live up to expectations of a 15M/yr player. Logically, spread over 3 years he is really a 8M/yr player but they seem to keep ignoring the fact that he's only making 5M each for the first 2 years.

SAS has been pullling the same bs but stretching it even further to make it seem as though Lin will be a 30M player.

If Lin does not play well.. He is worth sh*t.. The "Linsanity" is over, if he doesn't perform like an All-Star for a full season, the jerseys will no longer sell, the PR will no longer exist, he will become just another player and one with a ridiculous contract.

Bad investment end of story

I love Shump, but he finished last season with a PER of 10.83. Lin's was 19.97. Whether you like PER or not, or you think the sample size is too small, that's a pretty large discrepancy.

His defense is much better, but I don't think it makes up for the offensive efficiency Lin displayed.

And that is your opinion to think so and I will not knock it.

But IMO with Melo and Amare getting most of the touches offensively "offensive effeciency" is not going to be that huge for the knics.

PER is a flawed statistic because it doesn't take into account many of the important defensive statistics.

But you have every right to think that. My opinion is that the offensive system and team we are building here...shumpert is more important for a championship than Lin.

Not only that, but we have 2 full seasons where we are paying him $5M/yr to evaluate whether or not he is worth that third season.

Where is the risk?
