Minorities generally don't turnout as much as whites. It's a chitty way to win an election but, in general it's still much more important to get white people on your side then minorities. Obama kind of bucked this trend but, I don't think Hilary can get minorities as excited for her as Barry O did. Trump is pretty much trying to dominate the white vote while hoping that some of the rich minorities go against popular trends and protect their own interests by voting Republican even if it means Trump
Perhaps, but I don't think there are enough white males to wipe out blacks, Hispanics, and women though. Especially since Hillary will be looking to pad her numbers with these groups, and it will be very easy to animate them against Trump.
Isn't that essentially what Romney tried?
Kind of but, Mitt's a little more moderate than Trump problem was Obama was a buzzsaw. Nobody was beating Obama in 2008 or 2012 especially someone who wasn't really willing to attack him at all in debates which Mitt certainly was not willing to do. Thing with Obama is he was always going to relate with minorities because he obviously is one and he's from a city like Chicago and he's an elegant speaker while also seeming like the dude you could just go to the park and shoot around with. He really was the best of both worlds as a candidate.
Hillary on the other hand has some really shady past dealings and wears a different hat every day. She's more "politiciany" than Obama was and this turns people off. She's just not really genuine... Things like the Hot Sauce comment and her working for a campaign that didn't support civil rights can really hurt just as much as Trump's supporters can hurt him IMO and I;m sure Donald will be pointing all of that stuff out and he already has by constantly referring to her as "Crooked Hilary".
All good points, but I feel like both of the candidates "brand" is fairly cemented at this point, especially to those minority groups.
Calling her "Crooked Hillary" won't make people who hate Trump and know about Hillary think about her differently if the only other alternative is Donald Trump.
It may cause people to sit at home, but not swing votes to his side. I guess that is a path to victory in its own way.
I just don't see it, especially since she has had more votes than Trump during the primary process and Bernie will eventually fall in line.
