If you telegraph your pick at #3 you are basically inviting a team to trade up to #2 to snatch that guy lol

you make it sound like memphis trading away #2 to spite the knicks is a thing.

Ja Morant to Memphis makes to much sense for them. They are trying to move on from Conley. Ja and Jaren Jackson is a good start.

So who here would be in favor of the Knicks trading down only a few spots if it means they get a future 1st from a team like the Cavs or Suns who will likely still be a lottery team when it conveys?

It preserves cap space this season and allows them to continue to amass assets for any potential trade or increasing the pipeline of young players on cheap rookie contracts in case of future capped out seasons.

If the Knicks can move down and still pick someone like Culver/Garland while getting a top 3ish protected 1st. I think it's a better than 8 and 10 this draft considering the next couple of drafts should be stacked.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

You don't mess around and trade down if you think RJ is better than players you'd pick later in the draft. You just don't. His value is higher for a reason.

To me, it's one of those "water is wet" articles.

Do you think the Pelicans are "exploring" trading back from #1?

i'd say no. but i am sure the phone has rung and the emails have come in. you're wrong not to at least listen.

I mean look, it's one thing to listen to offers. It's another to even think about trading #3 for the #8 + #10. Top 3 picks are absolutely coveted assets. Trading out of that pick is ludicrous.

Just a thought... what if Knicks are looking to trade into the top 10 for another lotto pick by using their other assets (Dallas, NYK future picks). There's usually one team that looks to trades out of the top 20 to roll their pick over to a future draft.

If we had some idea who the Knicks really like in the draft then these trade rumors would be more clear. They also need a plan in place if they want RJ but the Grizz decide to take him, and someone besides Morant is #2 on their board.
