In case you haven't seen this, on January 6, 2020, while the riot was going on in our Capitol, the Trump family was celebrating their handiwork. This was a video published on social media by a member of the party. It was taken down, but not before others had downloaded it. Please look at this disgusting display of our nation's leader enjoying the harm he has done to the United States.

I received this and believe it is true. I have not edited this video in any way, and don't know who put this online originally or who downloaded it before it was removed from social media. I promise, you'll see a lot more of this online soon.

If there's more of this there might be something to drill down on, but there is not that much there in the sense of incriminating evidence frankly

Character reference.

Dad and big sister are there enjoying the mayhem, too.

As far as I understand it, if Ossoff and Warnock are certified winners you can swear them in prior to the inauguration and take over the Senate

I think you're right about that. It's how Mark Kelly got seated in Arizona almost immediately thereafter that special election.

I think each state has its own rules on how to seat people and when, etc. I have not heard that Georgia seats them quickly, only Arizona. Also, they'd still be short with Pence VP.

EIDT: I think removal from office takes more than a simple majority. But you may have Republicans on your side. It's an important precedent to get him out.

The Wall Street Journal (editorial board) has just called on Trump to resign.

They concluded that impeachment and the 25th Amendment would be too divisive for our country. So they recommend resignation.

https://apple.news/AlEl-kAF4TBmz86sCaIAwGg

If Mr. Trump wants to avoid a second impeachment, his best path would be to take personal responsibility and resign. This would be the cleanest solution since it would immediately turn presidential duties over to Mr. Pence. And it would give Mr. Trump agency, a la Richard Nixon, over his own fate.

This might also stem the flood of White House and Cabinet resignations that are understandable as acts of conscience but could leave the government dangerously unmanned. Robert O’Brien, the national security adviser, in particular should stay at his post.

We know an act of grace by Mr. Trump isn’t likely. In any case this week has probably finished him as a serious political figure. He has cost Republicans the House, the White House, and now the Senate. Worse, he has betrayed his loyal supporters by lying to them about the election and the ability of Congress and Mr. Pence to overturn it. He has refused to accept the basic bargain of democracy, which is to accept the result, win or lose.

It is best for everyone, himself included, if he goes away quietly.

Some of my relatives made it throught the Holocaust alive. They were still victims, and some suffered from what they experienced for the rest of their lives. These scum don't deserve to be allowed to take the law into their own hands and endanger others. But of course, the Pres loves them.

Only now do republicans find Trump’s behavior over the line? I guess only when it effects them personally, eh?

You could be right about that process. That over my pay grade.

Agree with you about your second point. Now that Trump put THEM at risk, all bets could be off. It’s also a way for them to cleanse themselves of the stench of Trump as we start anew.

Being that it is GA which Trump tried to blackmail, I'd think they'd be willing expedite certification if that is within their powers

You can't fully see it in the pic but the red letters on the sleeve say "RWDS" which means "right wing death squads" this is a common acronym that you see members of these fascist gangs like Trump's proud boys wearing around just to remind you that yes, they will murder each and every one of us as soon as they get the chance. That's what fascists do.

"It was OK when he hurt America, because he convinced most people he was on their side, and he was good for them.

"But now that it's clear he's really taking his cues from the devil, well, of course I never really went along with most of what he did and I'm cool, right?

"Right?

"umm, I can't hear you."
