They look really good together. Bodes well for future rounds and for next season.

We can extend Mikal and Mitch and use the tax payer MLE to really solidify this squad.

really good offensive strategy to use him this way, wouldn't you say?

really good! shouldn't have to wait for the 4th qtr to run those actions though. Brunson can play very effective off the ball at times especially when so much attention is on him.

I don't want to get ahead of myself so I will leave my strategy comments hopefully when we can close out BOS for our next series.

Knicks have to have a killer instinct mentality in game 5. Smell blood and finish.

There is glory in ending a dominant team’s run or tenure at the top of the heap. Knicks have to embrace that angle and carry that torch.

Thibs isn't changing the starting lineup but we'll likely see Hart's minutes reduced a bit to accommodate more Mitch/Deuce minutes off the bench. 7-man line-up is going to be the way to go as crazy as that sounds (Payne has been awful).

Boston will be feisty in game 5, but we'll stick to the plan and overwhelm them in the end.

fortunately for us, mitch is under contract next season too. so we don't have to do anything hasty. would be nice for him to be a whole career knick.

KAT + mitch has just begun. KAT said in the postgame that they really haven't yet had the time to figure out how to play together and that the big-to-big passing will get better.

brunson keeps pointing out that we're improving as we go.

praise be.

it's not lost on me that we ended their last good team... on their floor.

[slightly different circumstance as we were the 2 seed. but yet another one of those messed up low seeds we got, which tbf we've also been for others (cough, miami).]

And we were the terminator in the 2nd.

I knew we were saving a run. JB was just too quiet in the 2nd quarter but we kept it close enough. Very suspicious.

we took control of the game in the second quarter TBH. stopped the ship, then turned it around by the 3rd quarter. they were down bad the rest of the game. it was beautiful.

assagiolian act of will.

That's true. The C's big thing is hitting you with a flurry of 3s and hoping it demoralizes you. They're a spurt team. If you don't fold when they hit you and adjust... well, you've seen what happens.

And, as you said, we righted the ship in the 2nd after their 1st quarter flurry and had the advantage running into H2. I was only a little worried that they'd have another run and put it to like 25 but once they didn't... this group has the stones to close.

It also feels a bit like GS a few years back before Durant left. Everyone was saying they were going to run the league for years but then a loss + injury + finances of a market value deal for Curry decided differently. Boston, similarly, is going to have to face the music that they're way, way over the tax.

The new owner isn't getting quite what he thought he was when he paid top dollar for the team. But it will work out in the long run.

I reviewed their finances last week and even last offseason. I was kinda shocked that the previous owner were giving out contracts like candy. Jrue Holiday was egregious.

Just to get under a good financial health, would be to shed Jrue's without taking salary back or even trade Jaylen Brown for shorter contracts.

KP is an expiring asset but after this playoff, might need to give an asset to let him go.

Right. So how were we punked?

Lazy humans at their job. Always running their mouths when they dont "confirm" the facts before they speak.
I dont recall what our starting lineup was but we had No Randle for the entire play-offs. No OG for 5 of those games against Indy.
Josh Hart left game 6 in the 1st quarter. Mitch only played in ONE game vs Indy. So we only had Divo and Ihart  FOH.
Not to mention, no Bojan...
I would ignore anyone who says we got punked.

they're blowing it up now. unfortunately, the tatum injury makes that a no-brainer. can't carry a $500m tax roster for years.

they might not have run it back if they repeated. their financials are fuuuuuuuuucked.

I was proud too! Very. If someone in real life said to my face we were punked. I would just asked do you know how many and which Knicks were injured? and depending on their answer- I would either look at that and go ok and walk away or simple say do some research and come back to me on how many Knick players couldnt even pay the game and get back to me. I dont have energy to waste trying to get a person to change their beliefs.
