There is just too much uncertainty.
The centerpiece of your deal could accept the QO and play his one season on your team with his foot out the door.
Worse, another team could swoop in and sign him to an offer sheet that exceeds what you perceive to be his value.
You can talk all day about what Chandler may likely get on the market, or what he might do it traded there, but either way Denver cannot predict or control it, which is the inherent problem.

the nets already had the best offer. so now they've improved on it and still nothing is happening. you'd think at some point they'd realize that it's not gonna happen and denver has been playing with them.
