He used to live a couple blocks away from me. A couple friends of mine have seen him at the local walgreens a few times.

I was sitting in the waiting seats, and he passed by. I said "that's patrick ewing!" underneath my breath and waved. There was nobody else in proximity so he saw me and nodded back. Then, my parents, sitting to the right of me, said "who?" (god bless immigrant parents, such hard workers). I said "Patrick Ewing, the big guy on the Knicks in the 90's". They both said 'ohh' and he nodded again simultaneously. He seemed a little distant (I would be too at the airport, let alone as a retired player at the airport - so I didn't take it the wrong way), so I thought it was nice of him to nod again after I explained to my parents and he (likely) overheard.

From what I hear he's a nice guy. I never actually ran into him ( most of the time I'm guessing he was in Orlando). My friends told me he is a nice guy though. Quiet though

It completely sucks. Thanks sluggish economy.

I'm afraid I'm going to be 30 and stuck in my parents basement.

That odd, since one is an e-book reader, and the other is a tablet PC. One of those things isn't used properly with your dad.

You can also read them on your laptop, or on your mobile phone. It doesn't mean you're supposed to.

I hate my life so ********* much. 17 is supposed to be the prime of life, and I am just not enjoying this sh*t at all. I want out. Family problems, friend problems, girl problems... Dear Lord can I live? I control everything that I can to the max. My grades, clothes, fitness, is the only **** I can control. Everything else BLOWS. And when I get older, life only gets worse. If I can't enjoy my youth, what the **** do I have? I just sit down and cry every day, and think. I'm done with this sh*t.

I hangout with the same 8-10 doofs every week and do nothing. All we do is complain about our lives, make fun of people because their lives are superior, and we're jealous, and play handball.

The girl I love is playing me like a fiddle. It's over with her. The polar opposite of what I thought would happen happened.

My fam life is a little more personal...

I have nothing to live for, and life is just so stale for me. I thought this girl was the way out, guess not.

I drop all of my money on clothes that only get worn to school, and improving my appearance, I study crazy for a 90 average, and live in the gym. All I have to live for I guess. J Cole might be the only thing that makes me happy right now... and the BAT's as well.

OT: Smoking smarties

Post#954 » by br7knicks » Tue May 10, 2011 9:20 pm

Don't make a lot of threads about basketball, this one is no different. However, I know some of you on here have children, and as an elementary teacher, I felt an obligation to post this; I also haven't seen this posted, sorry if it has.

Apparently smoking Smarties (the candy) has been around since even before I was born, but it's making a comeback in the elementary school. On Free Beer and Hot Wings last week (and a little this week), they talked about how children are taking Smarties and smashing them up into a powder. They then pretend to "smoke" it, as it simulates the outcome of smoking - I'm athsmatic, and have never smoked a cigarette.

Here is an elementary student going online and showing people how to do it, it's sick:

http://www.collegehumor.com/video/39258 ... g-smarties

Although this does not create any type of "high" (a la sylvia, weed, etc.), it does have other ramifications. I wish I was making this part up, but apparently there are worse things that can happen when you "smoke" Smarties:

Apparently when you exhale the Smarties "smoke", a lot of the sugar goes up your nose. Although this may not seem that bad, we all know that FLIES love sugar. There have been cases where children have had maggots in their nostrils. That's right: flies go up their nose, feed on the sugar, lay their eggs, and they end up growing up in there.

If your children are in the upper elementary grades and you have noticed a lot of SMARTIES wrappers all over the place, show them this video.

(WARNING: this is not for the faint of heart. I made it 13 seconds into it.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6AjU20h5UE

NOTE: I originally posted this so you can just see the video on here, but the picture alone was too gruesome by itself.

Sorry if this is not legal on the forum mods, I just wanted any parents to know that apparently this is becoming popular again (I had never heard about it growing up), and that they should know if their kids are participating in this or not.

The accompanying soundtrack to that vid made me feel like it was 1986 and I just achieved something.

As I just had some Smarties candy the other day I can't help but think WTF. O_O Smarties for Elementary school kids. High school kids getting high on bath salts. What a world.
