Who's gonna be jealous in Houston?

Anyone who has played in the league more than Lin and make less than him. They're all NBA players who get a paycheck.

You should go take a look at Houston's new roster. Kevin Martin is the only real veteran on the roster and he will be making more than Lin.

I don't like the precedent this sets if we let Lin go.

Again, this has nothing to do with money and everything to do with Woodson not believing in Lin.

Maybe if JR Smith actually had an IQ >80 he would be making more money.

Mr. I score 13 ppg on 12 spg. I deserve more money!

Lin has done more in 20 games than your bum ass has ever done in your entire career. GTFO

this is the team ownership and the majority of these hypocrites who keep throwing that bull **** ass "root for the front of the jersey" ****. as if we've got a team of workmen lunch pail like players on this team. we're not the pacers. we got three players making 15 mill plus.

But if you look at things logically you're buying quite an expensive lottery ticket. He can either be serviceable or he can be a really hard contract to move.

I guess only Lin's contract counts against the luxury tax threshold right? Nevermind the 3 guys combining for almost 60mil/yr by themselves and still can't contend.

You're missing the point. My situation is hypothetical. Disregard every player on the team. Blank slate. You have 100 million to spend over three years. Do you spend 43 million on Lin?

Melo is more or less saying Lin is not that good -- a contract is only "ridiculous" if someone isn't good enough to earn it.

I'm starting to just want to get Lin away from these two guys.

As I understand, the Knicks have put themselves into worse financial situations in the past. if they are going to go all out, striving for a championship over the next 3 years why go through 95% then pull back on what could be the that last piece of the puzzle? It doesn't make sense to me, I think it came down to mostly egos being hurt during negotiations as well as some last minute resistance from the coach and other players of significance due to jealousy.

... Think about it -- someone is only not worthy of the money they're getting if they're not that good.

If they believed in Lin -- and trust is key to handing your team over to him -- then they wouldn't criticize his contract.

His teammates must believe in him. Instead they're bashing him. It's a sign that we once again have a cancerous roster. It's just sad folks.

Does anyone know what the first verbal contract offer was between Lin and the rockets ? How much was it for and what were the payments each year ?

I'm curious to see the disparity and why Dolan would be so pissed off to not match him.

And I'm pretty sure the Knicks organization has spent over 100 million on worse rosters before *see Isiah years*

How is it spiteful? It would be spiteful if lin had actually proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is worth that money but he hasn't. He's shown flashes of having the potential to be a very good player but hasn't even played a full season yet and he hasn't even played a single playoff game because of a knee injury. Guys who have put in work have a right to question that.

So I guess its ok that JR's gonna be jealous and spiteful at all the lottery picks, since they haven't even played a minute in the league, and all make more than him. Why doesn't he question those lottery picks? Most of them won't pan out, but we give them the benefit of the doubt and big time money when they haven't "put the work in."

And they can't be completely candid yet because it's not official. Wait a week for the SAS interviews to come out.

How much you wanna bet that Melo will say the word "85%"?

Well one of the reasons JR hasnt gotten a bigger contract is he spends all his time on twitter rather than the gym. Twitter guys should attack this idiot!

Again. Avoiding the question. His contract is 25 million but the true cost will be closer to 43 million. Do you spend 43 million dollars on Lin if you have a 100 million dollar budget over three years? Yes or no?
