4 straight years not making the playoffs. You act like it is easy what the pacers are doing. They drafted extremely well and were willing to develope players...lot easy to do that in indiana or san antonio. Still its not like this works for every team.....see the cavs..see the wizards....see the t wolves...eventually the young talent will leave if you dont win.

That's where I've been the whole time. Save the pick and see if someone else becomes available later.

its times like these i remember why i hate the knicks...and question why i am a fan of this team. then i remember because i was brought up watching them. ****.

I'm trying to understand if you're serious. Are you being serious? Are you really saying the draft is worthless outside of the lottery? How many good players have been drafted from 15 and on? Furthermore, how many future picks did we trade that ending up becoming lottery picks did we trade under Isiah? We didn't have to "tank". We just sucked. We suck right now too. What makes you think they'll be good 5 years from now?

Your logic (if you can call this logic) simply makes no sense.

bro, you need to be serious. The knicks aren't going to just let Melo walk. He sells to many damn tickets and yes he gets his team to the playoffs (don't bring up this year because most likely once tyson is back and if the lowry trade goes down, we most likely are making the playoffs) so that pick we give up wont be a lottery one.

im simply using logic. If the trade is going down I have a simple question.

Would you rather trade shumpert to a 3rd team or just give the 2018 pick?

How do you know a pick 5 years from now wont be in the lottery? Carmelo will be 35 and nobody knows what this roster will look like then. The only guarantee is that Dolan will still be here so there's a better chance we will be awful than good. And even if it isn't, Kyle Lowry is not good enough to trade a 1st round pick for. Especially for a team who already traded most of them for the next decade.

The Knicks making the playoffs this year doesn't matter. The East is pathetic. The fact that the Knicks have the record they do is even sadder compared to the rest of the Eastern Conference.

I wouldn't trade Shumpert or a 1st round pick. Kyle Lowry is a mediocre PG who will be a free agent and command $8 million annually. He is not worth trading any legit assets for.

Best PG since Lin :)

I remember him having a bit of a nagging injuries habit throughout his career though. I could be wrong though :dontknow:

So fun watching the dough ball (felton) supporters coming out of the woodworks.

The dude GOT NOTHING. Rank last every damn year as one of the WORST starting PG in the league.
Give it up boys. The guy sucks!

However I'll remind you guys that the Raptors gave up a mostly unprotected high pick to get him didn't they?

They gave up the lotto guaranteed first that was the centerpiece in the Harden deal which eventually became Steven Adams.

Yep and Lowry had just come off a very impressive season. He's got to D up but guys tend to do that better when they're under pressure.

I like him. I'd not do any deal for him on second thought. But it'd be fun to see him at the same time.

As a plan, I'd just collect assets for 2015. But if it's lottery-protected, I'm not going to shed tears.

Glad we didn't give up Shumpert. Lowry and Shumpert could be really good with a good coach.

But you get rid of the coach and figure out what kind of basketball team you want to be and then you start making moves.

That's too much like common sense.

Look, it's one thing to be a realist and say we won't tank so why bother keeping picks.

But if you are honestly defending our approach to team-building then all I can say is that we've been the most embarrasing franchise in the league other than Charlotte since Dolan took over, which is amazing because we have advantages in luring FAs and spending the luxury tax that other teams don't have. Unlike the Cavs, Wizards, and T-wolves, we have the options of building through FA as a bail-out plan if we get unlucky in the lottery. There is just no way any sane human being could think it's OK to never tank.

Someone needs to check on Felton right now, the guy might tear his ACL on purpose to kill the deal.

And this years pick if we at to potential should be in20's
Who cares name a super star to come out of 20's

And a real pg is one who can beat someone off dribble and stick his man

If you watch all the games this year we are always on our heels
Bc we can't defend pg
And we can beat them off dribble

A real pg can at the very least make the offense run smoother and take pressure off chandler when he comes back

Listen if you pay attention the knicks har stated what are plans are
Build through FA
We want love or Irving or rondo In 2015
We have th jr with Melo Maybe shump
That's a good core

1) we did trade our pick and seconds to get bargs.
2) every time we traded a pick in the past it has bitten us in the ass. go through the history yourself. i know what i am talking about
3) you dont need a top 5 pick to grab a great player -- PACERS. never "tanked properly" and have arguably the best team in the east and are a legitimate championship threat.
4) our pick will be late teens. guess what? good players can be found there
5) lowry isnt a "real point guard" -- hes a souped up felton. or what felton "is supposed to be." thats it. he cant run an offense like dragic or any other non superstar point guard...****...gimme sessions over lowry and felton. and yes i mean it.
6) whos gonna want to come to a team like ours if we suck/if melo leaves?
7) irving is a rfa. hes not going anywhere
8) rondo sure...hes a possibility
9) we cannot risk our future to help a team that AS CURRENTLY structured (from owner to players) has no chance of being a championship team this year...and, honestly, probably not for a while. you improve a team through free agency AND the draft...not one or the other (unless youre okc and luck out).

Felton is going to love Tim Hortons in Toronto.
