We have to see if we sign some win now guys. If so, I wouldn’t be surprised. If we don’t, I’d pass unless he’s way cheaper than expected.

He expires in 2020. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/toronto-raptors/kyle-lowry-2536/

Lowry makes a ton of sense if we can get KD but no one else. Probably relatively cheap and can probably give you one more quality year before he's toast.

Pretty much the 2nd sentence. I think they do it even it isn't KD who we sign. If we ended up with Butler & Favors, I think they'd still pursue it.

A lot of different directions things could go this summer.

The return from Dallas was better:

- DSJ
- TWO future 1st Rounders
- FULL Cap relief

—Mags

And while Fox is unquestionably better than DSJ now, lets not forget that the Kings turned that offer down - you can't even compare the two deals on the same footing. Not only did the Mavericks actually agree to a deal, they took back the multiple negative equity contracts the Kings wouldn't, AND gave up two legitimate 1st round picks.

If the Knicks got that roster (which would be insanely stacked and mostly possible), there's no doubt you start Robinson and Dotson next to KD, Kyrie, and Thad. I will say I think adding Thad Young to that roster seems like over-kill and probably highly unlikely since we'll have no space left for him.
That team might already be better than Toronto, Milwaukee, and Philly.

DSJ will be better than Fox in due time. Just wait on it.

It also would’ve been cool if we were able to scam the Kings and get both Fox and Bagley though. Talk about a fast rebuild haha. Still happy with our direction of the team, even if Kyrie and KD don’t come.

Work ethic is not a problem when it comes to smiff

Steph Curry’s trainer on DSJ...
"Right now with Dennis, I don't think you can even see his ceiling. ... He’s shown in the offseason that he’s willing to seek out, and learn, and really be a student of the game.''
Payne notes that Smith Jr. has done an excellent job of picking up the footwork concepts he teaches, too.

Ima just leave this here too..
"(Steph and Dennis) are both hyper-competitive,'' he says. "You have to be, to be successful in the NBA. ... The first step to being a great player is to have that competitive fire, and they both certainly have that."

Give DSJ a reasonable 3 year extension. Make him a 6th man off the bench. You're good to go.

what next moves do you make? Are you happy with this or do you try to consolidate for more talent (or take on bad contracts for future assets)?

I think I'd consider re-signing Vonleha and Hezonja for reasonable contracts (neither more than 5 mil per) and taking on Gallo from the Clippers (into our cap space) for future assets. I'd also quietly see what Knox, Dotson, Ntilikina and DSJ could get us (individually or together). I like each of them but am not sold on any of them. Ntilikina and Trier are the two I would most like to keep outside of Robinson (and clearly Zion). I wonder if Washington considers Beal for Knox, Dotson and DSJ...

BOS gets the LAC pick which will be in the late teens.

SAC pick is up in the air but could go as high as 11 depending on how the East standings shake out. Assuming they don’t get in the lottery which would suck.

MEM pick is borderline with MEM at 7 currently.

BOS isn’t going to have as good as offer as was assumed before the season, but it may be enough for AD along with Tatum and/or Brown.

They’re our main competitor for AD IMO. LAL doesn’t have the draft assets to sweeten the pot.

Useless fact: the MEM pick and the LAC pick were picks traded for Jeff Green.

You can't afford KD, Kyrie and Thadd. + McGee also is gonna cost something. Dude has been balling last couple of games.

The annual switching-of-the-flags on my house happened today, taking down the Knicks flag (which has been up continuously since October) and putting up the Yankees one.

I'll put it back up on 5/14, and depending on those results 6/20 too, and certainly for a few days when FA starts in July, but one of these years I hope to have a reason to not take it down in March/April at all. It'd be pretty dope if it was 2020.

Not to detract from your point, but Doston, Trier, Ntilikina and even Knox and Smith Jr can play 2G. I am not saying we couldn't consolidate and upgrade, but I am comfortable with our options at this position. Dotson as the 5th best starter - and a strong 3 and D player - works for me. Actually even Ntilikina as starter does.

Bill changed his tune quick after Dolan gave him a smack down.

But I feel like he is just trying to reverse jinx us and/or kiss up to his audience.
