As long as westbrook is still in okc. They will still be relevant. They know what they must do in the offseason.

Damn. OKC is going to have to pay Melo the big money for a whole season more. Sucks to be left holding the bag, doesn't it?

No proof of that.
Even so, he should have secured Mitchell first and then tried to get Frank.
There is proof. Hahn was just talking about it the other day. He spoke with guys from the Knicks huddle, there were two sides/opinions. Mitchell was what one side wanted, Frank the other. The Frank side won the argument. We 100% did have interest in Mitchell. Not only did we work him out, but there was actually someone on our scouting team that knew Mitchell growing up and had the foresight. It was from HahnSolo's show either Monday or Tuesday.
I don’t give a flying fuq about Hahn. He’s trash.
We should have taken Mitchell 1st. Period.
Try to get Frank later. With the way he just played this year his stock would have dropped anyway.
As a matter of fact, we need to go find some rookies that played like crap and see if we can get them for cheap.
Mavs would have taken Frank, he'd have looked like rookie MCW with triple doubles. Mitchell would not have had rubio to play off of and been behind Lee.

Westbrook usg rate lol. Is Billy Donovan actually coaching this?
Nice shooting PG13...Not
At the end of the game they showed Adam's with the tactic board in his hands. Donovan is still a tool.

Or at an earlier moment.
Phil should have let him walk. Next season get the 1st overall pick, work the trade with whomever drafted KP, and have another lotto next season to make up for the one we lost.
Except Dolan hired Phil for the purpose of convincing Melo to stay here. Letting him walk as his first move would have been against his prime directive.

Because Carmelo and Frank have the same agent or because they workout with him in the offseason?

I don’t care.

There’s really no way around it. We lack talent all over this roster. You take the best player. Period.
Phil got cute with the pick.

I wouldn't call it a prime directive. But it was part of it. Jackson was also a point of interest while the team tried to snag top free agents and recouped its picks. A lightning rod/shield for the franchise.
I think they should have left him walk but I've never had any beef with Melo since the resigning.

They choose to pay Ibaka over Harden.
They kept
Ibaka
KD
Russ
They could have easily gone over the cap to sign Harden amnesty or not.

If the 2017 top 10 draft was redone it would probably look like this.
Mitchell
Ball
Tatum
Fultz
Markaneen
Kuzma
Jackson
Fox
Collins

They didn't want to give him the extra 6 mill or so because it put them at another tier on the luxury tax bracket. If they never signed Perkins to that extension all of this would have never happened. At the very least you attach a first to Perkins contract and ship him if you're that cheap. Mind dumbing move by that franchise.
