tough to not improve from those atrocious efficiency #'s

I'm simply not going to blame his abysmal shooting %'s solely on his teammates. I lot of prospects have played on **** teams and still don't shoot 30% at the rim

then factor in his poor playmaking and poor defense...

He actually put together a better string of games when he returned from the injury than he had been before it.

i was talking about the overall FG%. thank you for making the distinction. i know the kid has a good looking jump shot.

i would think his ability to get into the paint would be less at the NBA level. but, i think he could thrive in an environment like you describe. if the lanes are there, he's dangerous.

i do still have concerns about his passing.

i remember being VERY excited about him before the NCAA season.

yeah, i don't know about that article. i was focusing on that video. i imagined him passing like that in an open NBA environment and being able to shoot reliably.

I would give a legitimate look at him in the second round. 6’6 SG with some solid bounce and a silky smooth jumper. The net barely moves when he makes it most the time. With our current shooters, I’d love to target some shooters in this draft. Plus, another lefty in the mix lol

But is it really? Could be a 0 man draft or IMO ...its a 4 man draft if I stay open minded: Wiseman, Hayes, Edwards, and Lamelo.

I don't think people would be screaming if Cole had even passable play making ability. His game is more flawed and that gives him more to learn/overcome.

Tbh I think I’d rather have someone like Nico Mannion with our late first round pick for a PG than take Cole Anthony with our first pick. Anthony has some intriguing tools from the things I’ve seen but I really didn’t like much at all that I saw from him at UNC.

Personally if we go PG with our first pick, I’d only want LaMelo (obviously need luck). Hayes, Haliburton, and Cole are interesting and all have things that are intriguing but I think we could find better value because this team needs just about everything so I wouldn’t be locked in at PG necessarily although I’d love to get a good one whether it was Lamelo or one of those guys actually pan out well

LaMelo would definitely be the best run and gun pg. that’s the one Of the quality him and hIs brother share. He loves throwing the ball ahead on the break. There’s a bunch of highlights from the NBL of him making passes like a QB. Maybe Kira Lewis Theon Maledon would be there at 22?

But is he what the team needs when their built and ready to contend for the playoffs and more is the question? Right now we only have 2 starting level players on the team and they both still have question marks with their games as well in RJ and Mitch. I want a PG that actually plays PG the way a winning team needs their PG to play when we are ready to win, not a guy that can play the PG spot for us when we're not even in the middle of a rebuild yet cause we're so far away still. Now i do think Cole could become that player but that's up to him if he'll be able to change his game from being a scoring PG to a PG that will set the offense up and make the right passes instead of always looking to score when we are a built team that needs an actual PG. I sure hope so if we draft him but seems like Ball, Hali and Hayes are much closer to that as of now.

As long as the Kncks are among the worst shooting teams in the league they aren't making the playoffs. If RJ and Robinson are our two starters, adding more dudes who struggle with shooting only adds to our current weakness, it doesn't solve it.

Change his game? For what? If anybody needs to change their game it's the two starters you just mentioned. RJ plays like a shorter Julius Randle and Robinson hasn't attempted a jumper in his entire NBA career nor has he shown any skills with the ball other than dunking.

I didn't say they were gonna make the playoffs, as a matter of fact i talked about how far we are away from being a playoff team. We're in the middle of a rebuild. Now none of us have any idea if L.Rose's plan is to keep building or if he's planning on selling our young players and draft picks for vets but if it's to keep building through the draft and with young players then i want a PG that will play like a PG so when this team is built we have a nicely built team and they can grow together. I'm not a Cole hater, i just want to make sure he's gonna not just be a scoring PG if we draft him. I want a well rounded PG. If Cole can become that kind of PG then i'm all about drafting him.

But both Mitch and RJ's games are going to change because they're both very young players that are still growing and getting better the more they play so we haven't seen the finished product with either of them yet, at least i don't think we have. RJ was getting better with his shooting as the year went on and the kid hasn't even played 1 full NBA season yet. The Cole you're watching now won't be the Cole in 1-2-3 years from now. He's also gonna grow and if we draft him then hopefully get better every year as well.
