We need to get a solid backup PG who has length and plays defense. If we do that, then we can keep Deuce.

I would be okay keeping Burks who can play 1-3. I’d keep Bojan too.

PG with length and defense is a myth. Only player that fits the bill is Jrue Holiday. Then who Josh Richardson? Frank Ntilikina? Again how much of a PG skill do those defensive guards provide?

Just improve the wing players, make Randle healthy and that should be good enough for backup PG duties.

Yeah, not sure that PG is out there either. So maybe we just bring everybody back including Bojan and Burks? What would you do to fill out the bench?

This. I also think if Deuce isn’t providing enough defense to play PG then him moving to be an undersized 2 guard isn’t going to be too helpful. Defense is basically his calling card. The best option is to just get Deuce back on track, and I think he’ll get there.

We also have to leave behind the paradigm that only the short guy can be a PG. Denver is running their offense through Jokic, Minnesota through Edwards, Dallas through Luka…I’d say the only guys who were running their offense through a shorter pg was us and Indiana. We can get a backup ball handler at a different position and keep Deuce at PG if needed.

Mobley is not available and Claxton is not an upgrade on either of those 2.

in typical knicks fashion we overvalue our players

iHart's defense was underwhelming this whole playoffs.
iHart is soft and Mitch doesnt play... so yes hes an upgrade.

Cavs need to get rid of Allen or Mobley...why not throw an offer over there for Mobley

Deuce is more then fine as the backup. Just let him keep developing.

The issue is the Knicks don't have much money to spend this offseason barring major moves. OG, iHart + picks will put them up near the second apron. If they don't sign iHart, then C becomes a big priority. There really isnt space to bring in a high level backup pg who is only gonna play 10mpg anyway.

When fully healthy we would have Mitch, Bojan, Hart, Deuce off the bench which is actually a really nice bench. So I would say at this point the Knicks either make a major move, or just try to keep the core together and bring in minimum level type guys along with rookies we draft.

First thing I'm exploring is what it would cost to get the #1 pick from ATL. That kid Sarr is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy intriguing

And the only reason I'm exploring that is b/c I'm not sure this FO is going to trust Mitch going forward. Not his fault, injuries happen.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This playoffs provided the front office with valuable info on who can perform under the spotlight and what this team needs. Leon is going to be ready to pounce when the right guy becomes available... not "any guy"... not the Beals, Westbrooks, or those types of bums. I'm talking legit guys who have the dog in them. That's why Leon is the Don and we are not.

We can't afford to be stingy. Brunson was all alone in the post season. Basically AI in 01. Get that man some help. Don't let someone like Deuce or an extra pick hold up the deal.

I doubt he’s leaving CLE to be honest, but if so I don’t see how that would help maximize Jalen. From a fantasy team perspective great, but team building standpoint don’t know if I’m high on it as I used before seeing Jalen in his 1a role this year.

Deuce and picks wouldn’t get it done anyway. We’d have to trade Donte too.

I've been thinking of something like...

Julius Randle, #24 pick, #25 pick

for

De'Andre Hunter, AJ Griffin, #1

Wow indeed. This means they def believe OG’s coming back & trust Hart starting at the 3.

If ATL is trying to win now, that’s the deal

If Perry gets the Pistons job.. maybe that 5th pick will be on the table
