PERSPECTIVE.....
From google AI:
Yes, an NBA team can initially deny a coach an interview with another team, but that coach can still end up being hired by a different team in the NBA.
Here's why:
Contractual Obligations: A coach who is under contract with one team may be prevented from interviewing with another team if their current team refuses to grant permission, according to CBS Sports. The current team has the right to enforce the contract.
Potential for Negotiation: While a team can initially deny an interview, situations can change. The coach's current team may eventually agree to release them from their contract, or a team interested in hiring the coach may be able to negotiate a compensation package (such as draft picks) to secure their release.
League Rules and Policies: The NBA has specific rules regarding tampering and the hiring of coaches from other teams, which can influence the process. For example, there are rules governing when in-person interviews can take place during the playoffs.
In summary: A team's initial denial of an interview is based on contractual rights. However, a coach can still be hired by another team if the circumstances allow for it, either through negotiation, contract release, or other agreed-upon terms.
*This is not over...the odds have swayed sure but I would still think there is like a 25% (or even a bit more than that) chance. Kidd has already publicly pronounced interest in the position. So this is very different than Ime Udoka or Finch.

Brown has the re-tread stink on him but he's coached some really good offenses since his Cleveland days.
If you want the polar opposite of Thibs, at least offensively, then Mike Brown is your guy.

Listen if Mike Brown is the coaching hire you win!
Well we lose, but you win this argument.

I saw this man start Fox/Monk together in the backcourt with Derozan and and Sabonis in the front court and say **** defense when he could have started Keon Ellis who actually defends next to Fox.
He doesn't care about defense what so ever.
Thats what got him fired.

Re: Official Knicks Coaching Search Thread
News outlets keep saying no Bryant but why? Like what is the reasoning that we will only consider veteran coaches even if it means knowingly shooting ourselves in the foot?
I can only think it has to do with egos in the locker room

Even Mike Brown seeing his name being bandied around...

We’re gunna see so many names because it’s part of the process. The FO also uses interviews to gather intel/ideas/knowledge for the team… always good to get other perspectives.
