So honest question... do we look at DLo? Is he that much better than DSJ (remember where DLo was at the same career points)?

If the KD-Kyrie or Kawhi-KD pairing turns into Rozier-Randle, it won’t be surprising. The Knicks haven’t had much luck these past 18 years.

Maybe I shouldn't go here, because I guess Randle can have some lapses, and maybe his "BBIQ" shows up with a lack of defensive awareness, but I feel like if there were a white PF who do a little of everything - post up, hit mid range jumpers, hit some 3's, put the ball on the floor from as far out as the 3 point line, and then pass as well as he does, there would be no end of praise around his "well rounded, high IQ" game.

"He's a cerebral player, real gym rat, sneakily athletic"

Joking aside, I do like Randle, but not locked in to him at 4 years for 20 mil a year. If we had a coach that got guys to play defense, Randle would be great, but we don't so he's not

I started this convo, but really don't want to open up the whole can of worms. Everyone knows what can be out there, used to be out there, still is out there.

But it's odd Randle doesn't get more love - but I guess he's carrying a rep from his early days. I vaguely recall, and I'm not a huge watcher of Lakers games, but figure a minor slate of a few over the Knicks ones each year - 5 or so, and Randle would do some questionable stuff and I THINK wander on defense.

Feels like that has colored his reputation moving forward. Questions are, does he still do that, is he really past that, was he on good behavior in a contract year, etc.

Scouting. I hope the Knicks are pouring money and people into it. All this 2nd contract movement of guys who are 23-25 years old makes it vital. I mean, it always mattered, seems a little more strategically important now with age of 1st contract and current CBA

I stick to where I stood, if no KD or KL, just absorb other team's deadweight with picks and rinse and repeat. No need to be panic.
Are you fans of the team or the player?

If Knicks really want soft big men then I would have taken vucevic over randle.

How does Randle do against the better teams in the NBA? That I think is a great prognosticar of his future success. Is he feasting on crap teams and poor defenses or is he upping his competitive game against the big dogs? And why is the Pelicans apparently not interested in bringing him back?

Love Randle as a player, passes the eye test as a small ball 5 and if his jumper gets better than maybe he can play 4 long term imo

I just don’t want the years man. I’d rather 2 years/60 million than these stupid 4 year deals

70 mil

30 Randle (2)
12 Bullock (2)
8 Ellington 2)
8 Rolo (2)

The only guy I’d want long term is DLo for his max because at the very least he’s shown growth, he’s still 3 years from his prime and he can be used as a recruiting tool for KAT in 2021

The funny thing is... I went to bed. You're right, I should continue to serve that tea because ppl gonna stress out about this for no apparent reason.

Did you even go to sleep for tonight? Are you not confident about Perry's direction?

The rumors have been:
1.) Sign one of the big 3s
2.) if not, get assets and rebuild

I have no idea. He's the type of guy that bad teams carry on the treadmill and good teams try to offload to get better. Yes I agree they'd be better off with Dotson then paying Bullock.

J cole can definitely get floor seats but Spike stays. Hoping DSJR comes back and have a good year.

I dunno. It doesn't seem like he specifically feasted against bad teams. He had good games against Houston, SAS, Denver, a few against Portland, Bos - one game was "ok" -15 points, another was 19 or 20. A couple of good games vs Utah. A few against OKC.

I'm not sure whatever trends are there - are his best games as a mismatch 5 against big C's who would be slower than him? Not sure. Seems that is part of his story.

I love Perry like a brother. I'd trust him with my wife life

Yes, I went to bed when you did. I'm fresh as a daisy. You?

But I've got things to do, so I'll dip in to review the madness and commit some drive-by comments later

New theory...we are only interested in Randle to drive up his price on the Nets who really want a PF... Kyrie for 4/144 and Randle for 4/100...that would be a ...ummmm.....great? ..... offseason for the nets....one could call it a blueprint for greatness
