Dolphins and NFL might be in trouble because as I said the Rooney Rule is garbage.

Giants seemed like they were just following protocols Daboll was always the fav with Schoen there...and if they had to do interviews to satisfy rules what else could they do?

Usually before interviews you have a favorite.

Well, he would have to prove that the reason the Giants did not hire him is on the basis of race, which he can't.

At best, he can make a case that he wasn't truly considered, but the burden of proof for that is high, because those texts were before his interview. Giants can just say that after speaking to him, they were incredibly impressed, and it was a razor thin decision.

So, I think the Giants are clear, but this will put a spotlight on the rule, which is probably his main goal.

Agreed with all of this. In suits you usually name a bunch of people to hopefully get the easy settlement. But this is clearly an NFL/Rooney issue.

Giants there would have to be a lot more burden of proof provided by Flores then a silly BB text. Giants just interviewed Daboll there are connections there but Mara specifically called Flores before they even hired Schoen...so that seems more plausible Mara wanted Flores and Schoen wanted a guy he has worked with 4 years before...nothing race related and seems a bad look from Flores.

The Dolphins stuff is crazy...pretty easy he should be able to prove that to make that crazy claim.

I was crapping my pants from Giants twitter that it may have been Flores lol. Schoen being GM was easy to predict who he would want. Especially since it was all about getting the offense on point and having alignment from top to bottom.

He knows Daboll well, he knows his work with Josh Allen. If Daboll fails then Schoen fails.

To say he hired Daboll because he is white over Flores just doesn't compute with me.

Flores red flags is not because of his skin color. That W/L record is impressive. It’s his actions working with other people that was garbage. A first time GM would basically be writing his own ticket out of town working with Flores who can’t even get his coaches right. Not like Daboll doesn’t have experience.

It was fun for Giants fans first 2 days. Now Joe Schoen is going to feel wrath of cancel culture media trying to take his head off.

There actually could be bad press of having Flores on the Market and not Hiring when many feel he is the best coach out there right now on the market. It would really put a spotlight on this process league wide.
