We’re so far down this rabbit hole there is no turning back now. It’s my fault for hitting the refresh button so many damn times like an addict.

If we go into the season and hear a quote from Perry and Co saying something along the lines of “we like the guys we have” I’m going to feel mentally drained.

Keep RJ. Keep the 2029 1st. Fight to keep Obi. There has to be a package to get this past the finish line.

there isnt

Ainge is a stubborn GM.

The Knicks' players outside of IQ (obi, Grimes, McBride, Sims, etc.) aren't fantastic prospects (yet). So the trade value is quite low.

The correct strategy for the Knicks is to tell Ainge that once camp or the season begins, there won't be any deal because our prospects cannot get any lower in value. Obi or Grimes playing 25mpg the first 20 games of the season would be a significant improvement and their value would go up.

So 5 picks + Grimes today isn't equal to 5 picks + Grimes 20 games into next season if Grimes starts playing 20mpg.

IMO:

you call Ainge and tell him this is the offer before the season (4/5/6 picks, + whatever combo of obi/Grimes/iq/mcbride/sims/rose/fournier) take it or leave it before the season starts, then the deal is killed.

Lets say Grimes starts contributing and plays 20mpg and puts up career numbers. Obviously 5 picks + Grimes looks much different now and we tell Ainge no thanks, but here's 2 picks + Grimes.

i was at the miami pro league and that was such a dope experience. i was so close to the players. Obi has insane hops but man his jumper...oof. had some ugly ass misses. he did hit one nice pull up 3. DSJ.. that jumper is broke broke. but his hops are back. garland has insane handles. everytime i recorded dude he kept missing though  bam stood out the most to me. was shocked to see justin anderson (the guy who has beef with melo). norris cole was out there too. forgot he existed. remy is fatter in person. i peeped he was wearing a utah jazz shirt on so i wonder if he works for them now. i shouldve asked him about the donovan mitchell trade  i was next to him for a min too

So suns fans are thinking Knicks are going to trade RJ as part of the 4 team trade to Brooklyn for the Knicks to land Mitchell but fail to realize the Knicks can land Mitchell without RJ and don’t need to be part of this 4 team trade rumor

Actually the Knicks have to be part of that rumor....sure they don't have to be part of the trade but they have to be part of the rumor, they always have to be part of the rumor.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Another true thebuzzardman story

Was in an airborne unit in the military. One day, at the end of a field training exercise, there was a kind an admin period - it was non tactical. For whatever reason, they wanted to do a timed ruck march at the end of it. I think that's why there was the lounging about. We ended every training exercise on base with an at least 12 mile speedmarch out of a tactical situation, full rucks, usually between 70 and 100 lbs (or more) depending on time of year, what you did etc. So getting to sit around for 30 minutes was different

Very cohesive unit, all had been together for a while. We get this new NCO, very much the holy roller, which no one cared about either way, but he had the habit of preaching it to your face and that sh*t gets annoying.

Get stuck on guard with him? 2 hour session of preaching (I learned to ask about his decadent past and then get all the "bad" details. Awesome!), etc. Nobody wants that.

Anyway, everyone is sitting there, annoyed, getting ready to get smoked and miserable and there goes this guy, Sgt Barnes, carrying on about religion. So another guy, Tony L (a notorious wise ass) suddenly goes "Hey, Sgt Barnes - Can I ask you a question about God?"
It got dead quiet, as everyone was anticipating some kind of roast.

But Barnes was clueless, he didn't know how to read the room (the woods in this case) and just lights up. "Why, sure Tony"

Tony L: "So, is God everywhere Sgt Barnes?"
Sgt B: "Why of course Tony!"
Tony L: "He's in you? He's in me?"
Sgt B: "Yes he is"
Tony L: "In the birds, the clouds?"
Sgt: B: "Yes, he is"
Tony L: "He's in the rocks? In the trees?"
Sgt B: "Yes Toney, he's in everything!"
Tony L: "Is he in my rucksack?"
Sgt G: (hesitantly) "...Yes, he's there too"
Tony L: "Well tell him to get the f*ck out, it's heavy enough already!"

Followed by 200 guys laughing at Sgt Barnes. It was epic.

That's very funny. I hope "Sgt. Carter" laughed along. It was well played.

Been playing on trade machine.
If we added Rose and Fournier , with some scattered youth contracts:
We could take back Clarkson or Bogs.
Figure that’s an interesting wrinkle .

That's correct. He can't be traded for a year from signing his new contract.

Even if he agrees to be traded?

The Suns cannot trade Ayton until Jan. 15 -- and cannot trade him for a full year without his consent.

Getting either one would mean adding more picks into the trade.

Clarkson has one year left with a player option for the following year - not sure if Utah sees that as a two year contract they'd like to shed, but Clarkson is good - I'd say basically what people IQ could be - a 15 ppg scorer/rotational player 13.4 million

Bojan B has a one year contract, no team option. 19.3 million.

I'd assume the Ainge/The Jazz are looking to move them in separate deals for 1st round picks. Seem like the kinds of players playoff teams would like to have - guys who have proven to shoot the 3 well on volume.

I think there's value in theory of the Knicks adding either guy, particularly Boj B who could back up 4/3 and provide shooting, but again, think Ainge wants to move them in later deals.
