I just woke up, went to brush my teeth and then my mouth went on fire. It took me about a minute to realize I put bengay on my toothbrush (its looks exactly like toothpaste ). I've been brushing my teeth and using mouthwash for about 10 minutes but my mouth still kind of burns. So uhh what do I do?

Sorry, I have no advice. Just wait it out, I guess.

If you swallowed any you need to call poison control
(see if the back of the tube has the number)

If not you can get a glass of milk rinse/gargle with it

If you dont have milk try the same thing 50/50 baking soda and water

Here is a number to call if things are getting worse

call 1-800-223-0182. (not sure what state you live in for Poison control)

If you start vomitting , feeling dizzy , difficulty breathing , call 911

Thanks. I just used milk to gargle. I don't think I swallowed any but I wasn't really paying attention at first because my mouth was on fire so I'll definitely be on the look out.

Did the Milk help with the burning?

While you are feeling ok I would call poison control on the back of the tube and ask for any addition advice

Why don't you buy the bengay that's in a stick like deodorant? It doesn't get your hand all smelly, easy to use and if you confuse it with another product all that happens is you got warm armpits not burning mouth and possible hospital visit.

I recommend you study up on how to handle these things after you get this fixed. In the case of something where you may need to contact poison control, because you could die or get very sick, the LAST thing you need to do is be on a forum like this asking people what to do.

I am awaiting for someone who may be going through a heart attack to post symptoms of a heart attack in a thread like this, asking people what they should do. This forum is NOT a place to get quick responses... and probably shouldn't be a place to ask for personal advice either.

My whole left side has gone numb and I can't speak correctly anymore, my girlfriend ran off with my mother to a state that will marry lesbians, bullies are circling my house like the scene out of 'I am Legend' where they chew through the roof, the cat my girlfriend left behind keeps attacking me in my sleep but the last time wasn't too bad cause I can't feel my left side anyway and should I ask out my Chinese waitress and risk having her laugh at me and her family coworkers spit in my egg foo young?

You're right but it didn't really strike me as an emergency. I was more worried about the burning than anything.
