Official Chris Paul Discussion Thread (Part 1 of ?)

Post#1 » by towelie » Wed Jul 21, 2010 11:57 pm

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/1365 ... with-paul/

Starting all over again...

"He wants out," said the person, who has been briefed on Paul's strategy but spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it publicly. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron's model of teaming up with other great players."

Paul's list of preferred destinations consists of the Knicks, Magic and Lakers, and members of his inner circle already have sent word to the Hornets of his desire to be traded to one of those teams, sources say. If Paul has his way, he's played his last game in a Hornets jersey.

Who do the Miami cHeat have to trade? It would be Hilarious to see Wade and Ledouche plot against Bosh and have him traded to New Orleans.

I refuse to be sucked into this until the day they announce that this guy is going to be a Knick.

I love how the Knicks are on everybodys list who has ever made a list or even thinks about making a list.

Its all BS to sell papers to the largest market in the world.

Seriously guys dont fall for this junk again. Wait til hes holding up that Knick jersey.

With that being said we do have the assets to get a trade done :)

Curry, Turiaf, Felton, Chandler, Randolph or Gallo for Paul and Okafor? Does something like that work?

But wait, we can't trade our young assets before the season starts...we'd have to wait until december right?

LOL, yeah we do have the assets, and we may even be willing to take on Okafor.

But this is the first legit article (that isn't from some news site like bleacher-report) that confirms Paul is already strategizing his exit.

If having Amare can get us Paul, he's easily worth the extra $20M we gave him over David Lee, no matter what people say about their production on the court.

The thing is we cant trade Felton till Dec 15th, so how could we make a trade work now? Im assuming wed have to take Okafors contract as well and besides Amare and Felton our guys are on pretty low contracts.

Our only options right now are this:

Just for Paul alone:

Curry, any 2 of Gallo, Randolph, or Chandler (cant do all three because it cant work under the CBA)

or

Curry, Chandler, Randolph, Douglas

For Paul and Okafor:

Wed have to wait until Dec 15th and we can offer:

Curry, Felton, Turiaf, Chandler, Randolph or Gallo (if not both)

or

Curry, Felton, Chandler, Randolph or Gallo (If not both), Douglas, Walker
