I still believe we are going to shock the NBA this year

Call me crazy. Call me delusional.
But deep down I feel we have a legit shot at the four seed in the East this season.
I think Amare is going to have his best season ever, clearly in absolute prime at age 27.
I think Gallinari is going to make a leap and flirt with 20 points a game when he finds his rhythm.
I think Felton is going to find a groove and begin to love and thrive in SSOL.
I think Mosgov is going to be on the All Rookie team.
I think Anthony Randolph is going to give great size, energy, defense & rebounds for the second unit and will be the MVP of more than a few games.
I think Landry Fields is going to have every GM in the league feeling stupid for having passed him up.
I think there will probably be some bumps in the road, especially early on. But this team has serious potential.
To me, it feels a lot like the 2004 Phoenix Suns. Amare is the new Steve Nash - in the best shape of his life, embracing the new leadership role. ready to take the leap from All Star to MVP candidate.
Those Phoenix Suns won 29 games the year before. Most people thought they overpaid for Steve Nash, and most prognasticators predicted they would still be in the lottery. They won 62 games.
Hopefully tonight D'Antoni will give the starters some serious burn together. We haven't seen a lot of minutes at ALL- we have only played 4 season games and many people are having hissy fits.
This team is going to be good.
Have I drank too much Phil Weber happy juice?

yes...well shock people with how bad we still are after spending $100 million, picking twice in the top 10 of the draft within the past 3 years, and a new point guard.

Mozgov has a shot at the All Rookie 2nd team.

Rebounding is going to be a problem but this team will be vastly improved defensively and a top 5 offense. I'm optimistic but I have trouble seeing us being a 4 seed unless the Hawks implode, Bogut regresses and or gets hurt again and Boozer takes his time coming back.

I used to say damn near the same thing before every season began, then Mike D'Antoni became the coach of the New York Knicks and I stopped giving a f*ck.
I still remember when a win/loss would have me moody or excited as hell until the next game (before being mathematically eliminated out of the playoffs). Those were the days, I miss having that kind of connection with the team.
Hope you're right, but even if you aren't, I no longer lose sleep over Knicks games anymore.

I honestly miss the Marbury days now. Atleast then we had a guy who could fight back when we were always facing a potential beat-down. A guy like Amare without a great point guard can't really take over a game as effortlessly as Steph could. We had a NY guy here then who genuinely wanted to be in this town, and always played with a chip on his shoulder. I want the team to get angry. I'm tired of us being the leagues whipping post. Atleast Steph always gave us that punchers chance

That's if EVERYTHING goes right, i don't see everything panning out.. I think we are going to see some growing pains with our young players and it might take a while for this team to figure out how to play together imo

You forgot to think that Wilson Chandler will do anything for this team.

I hope your right,I wish we had a Scott Skiles type coach that preaches defense over eveything else.Ooohhh how I long for a coach to make us a top defensive team, after all D wins championships.

I like a lot of things about our squad but youth rarely translates to wins in the NBA

Watching Amare tonight is making me change my stance a bit. I really didn't think he'd learn how to create offense on his own so quickly. He's added a 3 pointer to the repertoire and has begun to utilize some ball handling skills to create shots. I honestly always liked watching Steph play, and I think if you're going to win games you need to have a star who can create shots easily especially at the last second of games. You usually can't rely on a big man to cross the defender over and drive by their man, or create enough space to get a quality shot off on their own. I prefer your stars to be either guards or a small forward... if your big man happens to be your franchise player you better make sure you have a Jamal Crawford type on your team also. Steph could win games at the buzzer, I wasn't too sure if Amare could do that.
