So correct me if i'm wrong but once the trade is agreed on principle, the nets are allowed to speak with 'Melo?

If Melo is traded to the Nets.. Then their will just be a bunch of speculation if Carmelo will sign a extension.
This crap is never going to end

Once the league office has approved the contingent trade, is my understanding.

Assuming this is true (it's Tommy so.....)
Why would the Nuggets be demanding a lotto pick in what could be a highly weak draft?

what's the point of a sitdown? How desperate and pathetic must you be if you have to convince a star to sign with your garbage franchise as PART OF A TRADE? wtf are they gonna tell him?
Don't worry, Melo. We'll only be out of the playoffs for 2 years. We'll try to get CP3 in 2012, and if that doesn't work...LULZ we don't know what we're gonna do, since we've liquidated all of our draft picks and cap space for you. Just give us a chance. Pretty pleeeease? With a cherry on top?
fk outta here, Russian.

No, won't be how it would work.
He'd have to agree to an extend and trade. Trade would only be final if Anthony agreed to extension, and extension would only become official if Denver and Nets completed trade.

What we've been saying all along.

So do people think leon rose is pushing this trade with melo's blessing? It would seem counterintuitive if he is, and frankly the whole deal seems suspect. And i mean that in the sense it has nothing to do with the nets organization, but if we look at that roster, melo and billups will fade long before lebron and bosh even hit their peak primes. It just seems to me Melo's window with the nets is that much more closed/uncertain.

Not getting Melo will be a big blow in the sense of 'what could have been' .. May be harder to take than LeBron considering the reason to believe he was coming here many held for a long time. . It'll be nice for it to be over . .
but at the same time, who else will be on our radar, we obviously still have moves that need to be made. . Will we just make a small trade here or there and ride the rest of the season out with who we have? Or will we maintain cap space to do it all again

Yes i agree. this draft looks terrible. I would rather get a pick for 2012 that draft looks great, we should get austin rivers

Al Iannazzone: besides, if Melo's agent is pushing this deal, what does that say? 1 minute ago
too bad Al doesn't know that Leon Rose is at the Eagles game.
