First post!
Somehow I have a feeling we'll see at least 3 more versions of this thread.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-hei ... 063.columnThere's a place for him, somewhere a place for him. . . .
Hopefully.
Now we can only pray for the day the Nuggets trade Carmeo Anthony, so we don't have to hear about his large backside anymore.
If last season's LeBron James coverage was crazed, he was the franchise player of franchise players.
Melo's just Melo, talented and personable, but forever young.

That's fine but you also argue my point. People are not changing allegiances. Sorry look at how long the Met's have been around and look at the comparison of the number of fans. The Mets have been around since 60 or 6 50 freaking years and they are still considered new kids in NY Baseball. This change will not happen in Carmelo's life time and he is younger then me. The Bronx has become more gentrified as well it has changed for the most part for the better. I recognized only about 1/2 the places I saw as child, but the one thing that is the same is that everyone I see is sporting Yankee hats and that is the only reason I root for the Mets. That and my grandfather was a Giant fan. what reason is there for a majority of NYers is there to root for the Nets what? because the move to Brooklyn and rename the team? How many people remember the USFL that took off right? Or the WFL? both brought new teams to the NY area. Did many or any of these fans stop rooting for Giants or the Jets? nope and those teams were not even in season competition with the established teams.
The reason the Jets have allot of fans in comparison is because they upstarted and appealed to allot of people, but the established Giants fans never switched, The Jets were not in the beginning in direct competition and they went to a new area outside of the Giant's established fans.
That is not the case here they are moving into the Knick's area. The nets would have been better served at getting fans not moving to Brooklyn but Long Island were people won't make the trek to the Garden night in and out.
Cheers

And 100 million isn't a payday for Carmelo?

what he's saying is he was born in BK, but don't get it twisted, he pledges his allegiance to Bmore....in other words, he doesn't owe BK jack shyt.

I'm not so sure why people think this shows that he's going to Brooklyn. The way I interpret is as follows : "I was born in Brooklyn, but I was made in Baltimore." IMO he's saying that Brooklyn isn't as important to him as people think it is.

Seems that he is more interested in a title than money. I bet Proky tried to sell him on being a billionaire and probably failed. I think Melo would love to go back to Brooklyn but he knows that it's a major risk when you have another team that is closer to winning than Brooklyn is to even being a sports home.

Proky can't sell him on the impossible. Neither the Nets nor the Knicks can make him a billionaire.

That's the exact same thing that I get out of it.

i dont care either way to be honest. If we get him well be much better and if the nets get him we will still be better then them. A team of cillupshamilton melo humphries lopez and outlaw isnt going to win many games and when billups and hamilton are done in 2 or 3 years thats not even a playoff team.

IDK what he's saying anymore. I dont think he knows whats he's saying anymore. All I know is he is saying to much. And im not going to waste valuable brain cells trying to interpret what he's saying anymore.
If you take all his direct quotes and put them on a table, you will see a pile of contradictions that can be interpreted in any way the human mind can mold. And in the end he has not said nothing. Except look at me, me, me, me.
Im pissed with this dude. I wish he would STFU already.

Why can't the deal suddenly become NY-DET-DEN??
Rip and Chandler in Denver....Big Eddy and Azuibuke in Detroit (Cap Relief Instantly) Melo, Birdman and Melvin Ely to NY...yes we can throw in Mason and Walker to make it work and Detroit can toss in Chris Wilcox if need be....Plus NY can send Denver that number one pick they acquire for Randolph.

Tell that to the Nets fans. They were bragging about that with the LeBron sweepstakes which makes them losing out on him look more foolish.
