Lol, great way to start it.

Cole actually came to my school last year to perform...he was amazing.

Here's my post from the last thread...

J. Cole just released another version of his song originally titled "Problems" this time called "Pass Me By" featuring B.o.B. There was a version released before this one called "Leave Me Alone." Only problem with the song is that B.o.B's chorus starts early over Cole's last few words in his verses. Hopefully he picks one final version and sticks with it...chances are he just tweaks the one with B.o.B, but "Leave Me Alone," featuring Kevin Cossom, is a GREAT cut of the song also.

Which one do you guys think is better? I personally like the one with Kevin Cossom.

Just heard this on 2dopeboyz. "Forever" by Omen...I like it a lot.

Yeah, I've heard Omen in a dozen Cole songs now... He's actually pretty good, and I like that song as well. I'm pretty sure that they're very close friends.

Problems is great as well... I like that he's trying to give it some lift.

It's not even fun to like J Cole anymore, to many stans.

Like I said in the old thread, it's bittersweet, but I will always stick to him. I'm honestly not too fond of Wale blowing up either, but I'm happy for him, same with Jermaine, but he's just totally on another level.

MP, you think Electronica can reach the next level? He's definitely starting to spit serious flow, and I heard him on the radio last week.

LOL you sound like EVERY hip hop fan when their underground rapper gets exposure. Yea J Cole is sitting there thinkin," Damn this sucks. I got too many stans" This is apart of the game. And this happens with all good rappers. If your good enough to create a cult following than that's what they want. Mixtapes aren't made for the small amount of people who know about him.

I still love Lupe, he got all the exposure in the world. It has more to do with the fact that NY adapted J Cole to be the next up and comer and he has the support of everyone else. It's one thing to be Papoose or Saigon and only NY likes you, it's another when every single person in the world saying he is that dude.

Nothing to do with the fans, props to someone who can still do it. However people now are acting quite snobbish when it comes to J Cole.

I still don't get the J.Cole hype. He looked like he didn't belong a year ago on the MTV awards. He has zero command to get your attention...you have to be somewhat of a die hard in order to appreciate some of his talents. He's okay but good grief I can't stand this new gen of heads.

I feel you on that and I see people are already putting him on a pedestal. The most ironic about it is the people who act snobbish are the ones who just heard. I remember when Drake was actually good. When he was dropping COmeback Season and Room For Improvement and as soona s he made Best I Ever Had a single it was like the end of his credibility. And peoplt who just heard Best I Ever Had were acting like they been knew about him. Same with Wiz. NOONE talked about Kush and OJ crazy and if they even talked about it it was a month or two after. Black and Yellow drops August and everyone jocks in November and makes their little second rate freestyle. Hip Hop really sucks now and thank God there was so much good hip hop made in the Golden Age because instead of having to listen to this garbage I can have an iPod full of Golden Hip Hop and be content with it.

I don't think you are, but if you are referring to me, I apologize for that... I like to talk about him a lot on her because I haven't been able to get any of my friends into Cole, and this is the only spot that I can talk about it. I'm obviously no bandwagoner as I've repped him for a few years thanks to Jose7. He's almost the only rapper that I've been listening to as of lately, and I listen to him so much, I just want people to hop on board with him. Ya know what I mean?

But what solidified J COle was his verse in Look in the Mirror and Looking for Trouble.

J Cole is nice. But its almost sickening the way he is borderline worshiped these days. I love music as much as the next guy, but listening to people talk about J Cole is similar to listening to them talking about a high school crush.

I'm not a diehard I just saw the light on Looking For Trouble. Before he had some good tracks but November was his month. Same way you don't getCole fans is same way I don't get Lupe fans. I mean I cannot tolerate his new songs. Show Goes On was trash to me. Only songs I really bump are Dumb It Down, Look Into the Sky, and Pressure. The other songs just rot on my phone.

Why do you keep songs you don't like on deck? Did you pay for them? There isn't light with JC he's okay, just like Drake okay, just like Lupe okay. I absolutely love Drake's Fear and IMO he hasn't come close to releasing anything to it but I'm not going to blow him up to high heavens over 1 song or even a couple. This is the problem with the new gen heads it only takes less than a handful of songs to be considered Incredible I don't get it.

I got his unreleased on hotnewhiphop and just never deleted them. And I don't think Drake is good because of one song I think he's good because of two mixtaped and an album that wasn't terrible. FNL was a damn good mixtape. One of the best mixtapes of the year between More About Nothing. B.o.B's two mixtapes, and Kush & OJ.

Not gonna lie...I think Wiz is pretty good (he also came to my school last year - with Kid Cudi...blew Cudi out of the water) but I really didn't like Kush & OJ.

Definitely agree that Wale's mixtape (top 5 favorite rapper of mine), Cole's mixtape (another top 5), and B.o.B's mixtape, No Genre, were three of the better/best mixtapes of the year.

You should check out 2dopeboyz also. They have leaks as well...

Yeah I always go from the Complex 5 'O' clock shuffle ad it leads me to 2dopeboyz and NahRight. No Genre was great though. I love all the stories like Cold as Ice and Dr. Aden.

It's honestly no one on this site, Id never get worked up over something small like that. It is just a few conversations that Ive had with people, talking to casual rap fans etc like that. It would be like "Yo did you hear that new Sha?" Nah it aint J Cole I don't listen to bum rappers. Simple stuff like that, people are closed up now and hanging on every lyric J Cole drops. Again it's the fact that we adopted J Cole as the next future great NY rapper that gets me the most. And then... if you say something bad about J Cole people complain that your not a real fan and crap like that. You have to be so guarded when around these people.

Electonica could be that next level if he wants to, but he never will be. I thought he was good when he was rhyming on the old Dilla beats when he was homeless. Then all of a sudden his name started to buzz around and then he dropped Exhibit C and that was history. The problem with Electronica is that he spits some stuff that it's impossible to understand everything. I refuse to believe that all fans of Electronica understand all the religion aspects he brings in, origins that he speaks about and what not.

However the problem with him is that he is such a perfectionist and he don't care about all the glitz and glamor.

The thing with Cole is that he has earned all the respect that he has gotten thus far, he has been killing mixtapes and features. I have no problem with an up and coming artist gaining buzz and momentum coming into their debut album at all. As long as they stay somewhat true to themselves I have no problem with it at all.

For me personally, I think Wiz kind of blows. As far as hip hop today, still plenty of stuff that keeps me happy. Now a days it's not hard to find artist that appeal to your ear.
